Filming began TODAY.

It's 18-March-2013!!!!  Happy first day of filming Sherlock season 3!

About spoilers for series 3, the Baker Street Babes remind us that not everyone wants to be spoiled.  Honor that as best you can; if you are a spoilery sort, do put it up on top of your tumblr, blog, etc.  Use tags!

There's a blocking app for tumblr too, if you happen to want some help in blocking posts there.

Into the Hive Mind -- a lovely in-depth article about the fandom that waited, full of great links and well worth your time to read.  You might need to take breaks; it's 5k words and very detailed.

Sherlock season 3 in production!

Sherlock season 3 will be filming soon!!  On 18-March-13, in fact.  Martin and Sue Vertue and others have been delighting our ears with these happy tidings.

Benedict and Martin did the first read-through as well.

Alas, Paul McGuigan is not directing season 3.  Two other directors have been confirmed thus far.

Thanks to Sherlockology and Radio Times for many details of this post!

As you can see, fans have been visiting London lately, including some of my dear Tweeps.  :D

Sherlockology has a great FAQ -- with season 3 right at the top! -- so if you want to know how to contact the cast, go read it.

Sherlock SEASON 4 is confirmed!!!!!!!

The false 2013 rumor.

If you were on tumblr, or Twitter -- and probably elsewhere -- you may have heard the August rumor around 1-March-13.

I.e., someone was spreading it around the 'Net that Sherlock season 3 was being aired in August 2013.  This is not true.

I get the impression that it may have been someone mistaking their months and doing an April Fool's, but it may have been that August: Osage County comes out in August.  And which Benedict is in.

Luckily, someone (or several someones) asked Sue Vertue.  She said Not August sorry...

Wherever you are, whatever media you use, if someone brings up Sherlock and this August, do please squelch it!

Speculation.

Spoilers for season 2, particularly Reichenbach.

I read this "Richard Brook" post a while ago, probably in December 2012.  It bothered me.  I wanted to argue with it A LOT.

Short answer:  I think this is the crackpot theory.  Like Bruno Bettelheim on fairy tales, some reads well, and then the rest just goes ka-blooey.

But if you're looking for some lovely screen caps of RF -- with a couple thrown in from other eps -- that's a jackpot.

Images and radio Neverwhere.

Fan art off John's blog; and by the way, I'm sure it's that John, who is not as handy with machines as Sherlock, has a different time on his computer.  Probably not set with auto-update.  8)

Picture gallery of Sherlock stars:  Martin, Loo, the Moff and Mark.

Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere boasts Benedict and also James McAvoy; it will hit BBC radio in March.

Season 3 is coming!!

I was thinking I might post here a lot less.  Why?  Certainly I haven't stopped being a fan; I still adore and love Sherlock, and am heavily Sherlocked.

But it's easier to RT than to set up a blog post.  Last month I nearly decided to stop posting here entirely.

In the months since I became Sherlocked, versus merely a Sherlock fan, I have posted here a lot.

I began writing this post 17-Jan-13.  Since then I've gotten work in, and I've been a bit busy.  I'd thought perhaps I might manage to post weekly, but I haven't.  So I don't know.  I'll see what I can do.

If you've been online at all, though, you know that they're building the set of Sherlock now -- season 3 is in production!  They'll be filming in March... and many pictures of the set are being posted.  :D

Audio and awards, etc.

Good news!  Benedict won that poll for Best of 2012!  By over 24k votes.  We are mighty, fandom!!!

Sherlockology points out that New Year's Day is the first anniversary of s2e1 Scandal.

Sherlock was nominated for the 2013 PGA Awards.  And for the Golden Globes on Sunday, Mycroft, uh, Mark Tweeted.  Then Cumberbuddy reported on Benedict's evening.

Benedict and various others did readings at Story of Christmas.

PBS plans to air a documentary in late 2013 called How Sherlock Changed the World.  Note that they mean the character "Sherlock Holmes" and not BBC Sherlock.

Last month Martin Freeman said Sherlock is "one of the best written" things he's worked on.  :D
