Happy NYE, dear fandom.

Anyone primed for s4 setlock?  Yes?  No?  Maybe?

This is where bribing Anthea would be handy, you know.  Because it's not like Mycroft would let us watch CCTV footage.

But I get those pics from Twitter and tumblr, so they are from other fans, bravely hunting the wild setlock in its native habitat.

In lieu of fresh setlock, since filming is just under a week away...

S4 is coming, huzzah!

Another little holiday gift... guess what's filming next month?

No, really!

Radio 4 loves you: Merry Christmas!

Did you miss any eps of Good Omens?  They're up on the BBC iPlayer for the next four weeks, unless they haven't aired yet.  In which case, they will be... soon.  8)

CP: Zurich parts 1 and 2.

At last!  Cabin Pressure came to Zurich... today and tomorrow.

You can listen to Part 1 via the BBC iPlayer for the next four weeks.  Part 2 airs at 18:30 GMT tomorrow, 24-Dec-2014, on Radio 4.

Possibly you already knew that.  :)

If you don't live in GMT, use the time zone map to find the time proper for you.

After the live broadcasts on Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra, which are open worldwide [huzzah, dear Beeb!] you can always use BBC iPlayer.

Strewth!  I was very grateful, since I am NOT in the UK area whatsoever.

The Hobbit... ends.

Oh yeah... because you know the final installment of The Hobbit is out.  8D

Zurich and Good Omens!

In case you didn't know, Cabin Pressure's finale Zurich is nigh.  As in mere days away.

Are you ready for Cabin Pressure to land before Christmas 2014?

BBC Radio 4 will air Zurich part 1 on Tuesday 23rd and Zurich part 2 on Wednesday 24th December, at 6.30pm GMT.

(Pssst, if you can't get the BBC iPlayer to work, try the tumblr sites in this post.)

Ben's got 2 nominations at the Screen Actors Guild awards, for The

AND for BBC Sherlock!

Contests: Anglo FF and RT.

Team Sherlock was sweeping the female Anglo Fan Favorites -- almost!  Una and Loo won their bouts in Round 1, but Lara didn't.

Loo is just behind in her match this time around.

Una is against Helen, so I'm afraid the uneven match will be her undoing.  8(

This round of Anglo Fan Faves ends Friday on 12-December 11am ET.  But--!
In case Anglo Fan Faves' Round 2 wasn't enough... get yourselves ready.

There's another contest.

Tuesday, December 9, 2014

OD: Penguins of Madagascar.

A whole stack of Penguins vids.  Because they're awesome.  And oh dear Lord, so funny!

You'll see more spoilers the more you watch.

Films, 'cupcakes, and more!

Christmas cheer is already here for some fans.  :D  Want goodies?  Have a bunch!

News from Marvel and James Bond -- vids from Penguins and The Hobbit -- the Oscars and interviews... plus Cumbercupcakes.  Make sure you tip over the stocking and get everything out, now; it's pretty full.

Official news from Marvel:  Benedict will play Doctor Strange.

His Doctor Strange Cumbercupcake.  Check out People's "The 'Cumbercupcake' Exists" and THR's See Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston as Cupcakes if you haven't seen Pei's work yet.

Tribute to Cabin Pressure.

On Monday, 3-Nov-2014, I found out about this.  Alas, much too late to tell you before the project was done, but now you can enjoy what was done.

A year ago, the fans running the Cabin Pressure fan site decided to do a Thank You for Cabin Pressure project on tumblr.  The updates are here.

So I thought this would be a good thing for Thanksgiving.  Because we're thankful for CP, and knowing that other fans expressed how we all feel... is something to be thankful for.  Along with the cast of CP.

It is amazing, and may make you cry too.  (I'm all sniffly now!)

Jon Stewart's Cumberbatched; plus Smaug.

As headlines go, you can't top these.  No, really, you can't.

Week’s Best TV: Jon Stewart Proposes to Benedict Cumberbatch -- from that link they have one quote [from the interview itself] and one comment.
"I guess this would be the wrong time to ask you to marry me." But if not now, when?

Even TIME got into the act with Jon Stewart Admits He Wants to Rip Off Benedict Cumberbatch’s Clothes (no article, just the video).

S4, Una, a fan vid; Anglo FF.

Reasons why we love Una Stubbs -- tumblr user jennylevey would like to send Una a collection of these.  Do reblog, I pray you!

Your Love Is My Drug - Sherlock by Lemon Swordfish

One of my favorite instrumental fan vids, all s1.  It's lovely.  I could listen to it for hours (and sometimes do).

Both Ben and Martin got swept out of Anglo Fan Faves.  (So did Tom Hiddleston, which is a bit shocking.  Loki lost to the Doctor!)  I suspect the actors who were cheering their fans on got more than a little boost.  I don't recall that happening before.

So if you're still voting, Thorin's against the Tenth Doctor, while the Outlander is crushing Merlin.  I feel this is fitting, since Smaug should've won, clearly.  ;b

Snapshot of Anglo Fan Faves, Women 2014, which starts 1-Dec-14.  Note that Lara, Loo, and Una are all in again this time around!  But... Amanda isn't.

If you haven't seen all of s3 yet, avoid this.  Possible s4 spoilers -- and just as likely, Mark just messing with us.  Like he and Steven tend to do.  :D

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

Ben's interviews this week; Anglo FF.

Tonight Ben was with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show.  I lucked out and turned on TV just in time.

Saturday, November 15, 2014

Anglo Quarterfinals; HFA awards and TIG!

The Imitation Game is out in the UK as of 14-Nov-14, and will be out soon -- elsewhere on 28-Nov-14.  (I'm finding mixed messages, some say that TIG is out in the USA on 21st, some the 28th, so check your local listings.)

And The Imitation Game got four Hollywood Film Awards!

Saturday, November 8, 2014

Of 16 Anglo Fan Favorites--

The Hobbit/John Watson, Sherlock/Smaug, and Mycroft made it to Round 2!  All 16 contenders.

As did the three latest Doctors, and in a just universe, they'd just put Ten, Eleven, and Twelve against each other, but alas, not the case here.  :b  (Right now Tennant is destroying Capaldi.)  The matchups are getting cruel...

Mycroft, er, Mark is losing to Loki.

Martin is up against the Doctor.  (Don't panic, Arthur!)  Andrew lost to Matt Smith after a tight race; he's only a Time Lord, Bilbo has the Ring, right?

Ben is winning tonight, but against Harry Potter aka Daniel Radcliffe, will he keep it up?  Thus far...

Considering that of course Gandalf/Magneto made it, but Picard/Professor X didn't, well.

Round 2 closes 11am ET Friday, 14-Nov-14.

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Congrats: Ben's engaged!

Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are engaged.  Isn't that wonderful?  So happy for them both.  (The Telegraph has a shorter piece here.)

MTV says Benedict Cumberbatch Is Engaged, So Why Is The Internet Still Working?

A sampling of Tweets... along with the NY Post's Twitter reacts to Benedict Cumberbatch's engagement.  Which is not how everyone's taking it, but hey, they want to focus on unhappy weeping, then that's their choice.  Bustle is surprised by tumblr's reaction.

Anglo Fan Favorites 2014... and sex.

"32 British celebrities, five rounds, one winner" at BBC America... Will Tom Hiddleston win again?

All 16 matches for Round 1.  Plus a LOT of fandoms are represented.  I'm mentioning Team Sherlock, which includes The Hobbit too, along with Star Trek.  :)

The Graham Norton Show!

The Graham Norton Show - s16x5 - Benedict Cumberbatch, Miranda Hart, Timothy Spall and Maroon 5:  Part 1 and Part 2.

Thanks to my Tweep for alerting me that it was up at last for folks outside the BBC area!  Check out BBC America for those of you with a TV handy.

Missing from SH s3.

First, seasonal fan art from JM.

Halloween should mean more candy, but I wasn't able to blog that day.  Have some deleted scenes from s3 instead.  :D

Do avoid these vids if you haven't yet seen s3, definite spoilers inside!

Frankenstein: NTL encore!

For this week, you can find more encore screenings of the National Theatre Live's Frankenstein.  With Benedict and Jonny Lee Miller as, respectively, the Creature or Victor each night.

Possibly longer, but be sure to check!

This may be just in North America, so check your area.

FYI, the show came out in 2011 and will probably not be on DVD.  But the NTL has done encore screenings more than once now.  So have hope!

Last November one of my Tweeps got to see the show, both versions; see the link for her review.  :D

The GN Show... kinda?

Well, I thought the Graham Norton Show would be up by now... it is.  Sort of.

That's if you live in the BBC One viewing area.  Through 31-Oct-2014, btw.

Thursday, October 23, 2014

The Graham Norton Show... again. 8D

Ben's doing the interview whirl for The Imitation Game.

Unfortunately, the vid isn't up... yet.  But I expect it will be.  Give BBC One time.

I'll post the show vid when I find it.  :D

(ETA:  The show airs on BBC One Friday night, 24-Oct-2014, at 10.35pm BST.)

Cumberbatched...

I haven't done a selection of Ben pics in a while.  A long while.  Here's a few via Twitter, plus other goodies.   Enjoy!

Ask Benedict results.

The Imitation Game, NYCC cosplay

Cumberbatch: Fame is a learning curve.  Recent interview about Alan Turing and The Imitation Game, but also other things.

Sherlock to The Imitation Game: The many faces of Benedict Cumberbatch.  Includes two trailers for The Imitation Game.

RDJ is a fan of Ben's too; check out Robert's own Reddit.  8)

Ask Benedict, Hollow Crown, etc.

Today #AskBenedict will be going on.  In under 6 hours.

Cabin Pressure's Zürich: where?

I'd like to complain about how Cabin Pressure's Zurich is being sold.

Or not sold, as the case may be.  It was difficult to find except at Amazon UK; plus Amazon owns Audible now.  Meaning you may (or may not) get Zurich.

I'm a little cynical since I ordered series 4 twice from Amazon, but never got it. (Despite refunds, I wanted my show a year ago.  Grrrr.)

Monday, September 29, 2014

Pics and Tweets, oh my.

The early pictures from Ben shooting The Hollow Crown as Richard III are up; the Independent has an article here.

More on-set pics, from the silly to the strange, via Londonphile's tumblr.  Yes... Ben IS wearing a wig.

Saturday, September 27, 2014

James Rhodes and mental health charity.

Pianist James Rhodes is a friend of Benedict's.  Today James got married.

Ben was part of his wedding party [an usher, it sounds like, despite penguins] while Stephen Fry wed the happy couple.

Little Favour, BC art, fan vids.

Two fan vids; shipping in OED--!

I haven't posted a fan vid in forever, seems like.

Feels for s3, s2, and s1... also spoilers, if you haven't seen all of s3 yet.  I'm thinking you probably have, but just in case, treat both vids as spoilers!

From Turing to Sherlocked.

If you sorrow for not getting the Sherlocked convention in your country/region... this is my answer to why it's only in Europe and America.  I'm sorry, my dears, but it comes down to numbers.

The higher amount of fans are in two places first.  Yes, I know and you know that certain countries have HUGE fan bases.  And matching populations.

Sherlock fandom is worldwide, sure -- but we're not concentrated everywhere.  In America and Europe are where conventions will be first.

Watch the Sherlocked FB page for regular updates.

That auction got thousands!

Holy--!  Yeah, that's what Ben's suit went for on the eBay auction yesterday.  For charity.

OMG, we have the most amazing fandom in the universe.  Bar none.

Friday, September 12, 2014

TIFF 2014; and that auction!

From RDJ to Cumberbatch, the stars headed to TIFF 2014...where TIFF aired The Imitation Game, which comes out 21-November-2014.

Ben stars as Alan Turing.  Videos of Ben and Keira Knightley are at CBC News.

Plus TIFF is where Ben promptly melted down the Internet per HuffPo Canada.

Lovely TIFF, from which we get such great pics of Ben via Cumberbatchweb.

Alas, because TIFF means Ben's working the whole time -- interviews are work -- there's this problem... TIFF 2014: Benedict Cumberbatch wishes he could see more of Toronto.  I wish he could too!

Interviews Martin, Rupert -- Babes' s4 predictions.

Let's talk about Martin.  These are all 2014 interviews.  Expect s3, Richard III, Fargo, and Gollum.  Because all those go together... okay, maybe not.

If you haven't read Martin's Shakespeare invented Gollum interview over at the Telegraph, you should.

Why Martin Freeman Pretended His Wallet was Stolen at His ‘Sherlock’ Audition at BBC America.

Mark Gatiss interviews Martin Freeman at Radio Times.

As for Sherlock s4, remember not to trust what our friendly writer =cough= trolls say, despite things like this at the Telegraph (s3 spoilers in link and title).  Wait until we're in setlock.

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

Ben's GQ, UK raffle, Mark's Reddit...

Ben's GQ is sold out.  Apparently Benedict won their award or something, and you know how that makes magazines vanish.  Of course, his drunken acceptance speech on tumblr has already made fandom very happy.

Don't worry, they'll make more GQ just for us.

Vanity Fair, bless 'em, took his speech in stride.  Don't you love finding fellow Cumberfans?

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

TV Choice Awards: 2 for Sherlock!

Monday, September 8, 2014

Birthdays: Martin's now, Rupert's (June!).

And it's also Martin's birthday today.  I hope he had a very happy one!

Saturday, September 6, 2014

Charity auction: Ben and many more!

Remember that Annos Africa auction?  That was announced back in July.  It's all for charity, and Ben's got a lovely suit up there.

His suit has gone to £2650 thus far.  In about 48 hours.

Tuesday, September 2, 2014

John Finnemore... Zürich!

A tale told in Tweets... why not?

Thursday, August 28, 2014

PBS: stream s3!

This may only for the USA -- sorry if that's so! -- but be sure to confirm it first.  Go try the links, do.

Because it's been announced on the PBS tumblr and Twitter; also Netflix, Apple TV, Roku, and mobile devices.

PBS is giving its viewership the gift of Sherlock s3.  For free.  Stream the 2014 episodes up through 25-Sept-2014.

Sherlock gets 7 Emmys!

Buzzfeed:  “Sherlock” Was The Biggest Winner At The Emmys.

Variety puts it differently.

Sherlock hunts down Emmys hat-trick says the Glasgow Evening Times.

But you gotta love Forbes and their headline, Emmys 2014: BBC The Big Winner As 'Sherlock' Beats 'Breaking Bad' And 'Game Of Thrones'.  Although that writer doesn't actually like our show, it's still a great headline.

Benedict wins the IB Challenge!

I take it back, I should have known that Ben would have a load of fun taking on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from Tom.  The chance to ham it up on screen for us all and tease fandom like crazy?  Perfect opportunity!

He made his video (above) into the best little movie with as much fun as possible.  If he wasn't the director as well as the plotter-in-chief, I'd be terribly shocked.

The Daily Mail has screen shots and his dialog there, in case you couldn't hear Ben speak very well (certainly I couldn't).  I love the final lonely ice cube sliding down his car!

More Cumbercupcakes of his video here.  8)  They are mildly NSFW, in case you're wondering.

Tuesday, August 19, 2014

Ice bucket challenge to Ben.

Tom Hiddleston just challenged Benedict to the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS.  I've linked it via the Tweet as well as the direct link, just in case.  ;)

Of course, nothing is complete unless Sherlock's challenged too.  So The Woman took care of that.  She was... inspired by Tom.  Clearly.  8)

S3 speculation, shipping, fic...

Includes S3 spoilers!

Some January 2014 speculation on His Last Vow before it came out.

AU Sherlock fic Hitting the Water at Sixty Miles an Hour by what_alchemy, set before s3 came out, but occurring after Sherlock returns.  Very well written.  Features Mummy Holmes.

More s3 shipping from The Empty Hearse, via tumblr.

So, about Hamlet selling out--!

Barbican Hamlet website.  Remember that although they are sold out, some tickets will become available, so keep an eye on that site and their FB page.

They sold out on 11-August-2014, going by their FB.

But the £10 tickets will still be available in 2015.  That's 100 tickets for each performance, including a surcharge, per their official box office site.

Cumberbatch's Hamlet most in-demand show of all time at the Telegraph.  Plus Benedict Cumberbatch: a Hamlet worth waiting for.

LFCC, 2014 Emmy list, s3...

ETA:  Radio Times is doing a TV Champions poll.  Right now is the Finals -- it's Benedict against David Tennant.
Really close; do be sure to vote before 6-August-14!

Did you want to see all the 2014 Emmy nominations Sherlock got?

A video from the London Film and Comic Con 2014 that includes Sue, Mark, and Steven.  Possibly has spoilers, but knowing them, probably just teasers.  This is a preview of the Sherlocked convention also.  8)

SDCC 2014.

Here be Comic-Con goodies, such as the SDCC Official Panel 2014 - Penguins of Madagascar & Sherlock by Flicks and the City, which is over 34 (!) minutes long and is a group interview.

If you can't listen right now, a few highlights are at MoviePilot.  Other highlights are at Hypable.

Flicks and the City will have another panel about The Hobbit, which I'll post later on, after it hits Youtube.  8)

Anglophenia has 10 Best Moments from Benedict Cumberbatch’s Comic-Con Debut, which includes something I've neglected; the penguins!  Also a video.

Cumberbatch news: Hamlet, TIG, wax...

Cumberbatched, or Benedict in wax:  His figure will be with the A-list at the Madame Tussaud museum.  "Finally I can photobomb myself!" Ben jokes.

Cumberbirthday 2014.

So, how did you celebrate Ben's 38th birthday on Saturday?

Image via the Baker Street Babes and company.

Radio Times points out that Ben's birthday trended on Twitter... worldwide.  Well done, fandom!  8D

Thursday, July 17, 2014

Saturday is Ben's birthday...

And I won't be online.

So if you are -- and I'm hoping you are for a bit -- please make sure to check out all the charities sponsored in Ben's name.

Batch of Kindness is on 19-July in particular because Ben asked us to share with others.  The Cumbercollective is definitely stepping up to the plate as requested; we have a brilliant and generous fandom.

Monday, July 14, 2014

Rumors, two contests, and TSoT.

MTV wants to know if Sherlock is the best fandom, and if you're on tumblr, you can vote!

SK Confessional says rumors are already flying about Ben in Frozen 2, if the dream-casting goes as planned.

SK Confessional: I’m obsessed with Benedict Cumberbatch, and here's why.

2014 Emmy nominations, Comic-Con...

Emmy Awards 2014: Sherlock scoops nominations -- which really means Team Sherlock and Fargo!  Plus 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor got a nomination for another show.

It's turning into the 6 Degrees from Team Sherlock game!

My stuff -- plus Team Sherlock links.

Everyone, if you have a tumblr account, I'd be much obliged if you could please post my London crowdfund link there.  And Bea has put it on her tumblr too; any reblogs are much appreciated!

I won't be at the BBC, so I cannot promise you any autographs from Team Sherlock, alas.

For fans of sf/f, Worldcon will have lots of authors present.  I can get their autographs.

I may bring this up a few more times, but I'd rather keep this blog for its usual purpose -- Team Sherlock.  I appreciate your patience, my dears.

So... back to Team Sherlock!

My crowdfund to London.

If you hadn't heard about Ben's upcoming part as Classified in Penguins of Madagascar, then USA Today provides details.  8)

I'd hoped to see Ben in Hamlet, but alas, he's onstage in 2015, not 2014.  Must settle for him onscreen as the BBC's Richard III then.

Which brings me to my crowdfund, London: Magic Carpet Ride.

My best friend Bea is going to London this August.  To the Worldcon.

So I'm doing a crowdfund to get to London.  Would you help me out with my crowdfund?  Please spread the word.

I've also blogged about this on my main blog, because I explained a bit of what's going on with me there.

S4 to film in 2015!!

Maybe you heard that before, when tumblr and Twitter was talking about what Martin said a week ago...

Now the big news from the BBC is official:  "Shooting will begin in January 2015, with the one-off special likely to air around Christmas."

"Miss me?" The nation's favourite detective returns to BBC One.

Online birthday wishes; plus cake!

There's a tumblr for online messages to Ben, Happy Birthday Benedict.  This was activated in 2013.  You don't have to speak English or have a tumblr account to use it.

If you were thinking about Benedict and wanted to find a way to help him celebrate his birthday this year, nineteen days from now... he has ideas about that.  He'd far prefer you help someone out.  (Here's my master post of the 2014 charity fundraisers that fans are doing for Ben.)

2014 master post: Ben's birthday charities.

When I began this post, I knew of seven fundraisers at present to honor Ben and the charities he supports.  There are more.  Naturally.

I've been blogging about the fundraisers, with more details if I had them.

I don't think I'll be able to update this list any more due to July work... but I will re-post this master post link (via Twitter) during July so they all get a chance to be seen.  If you reply to my Tweets, I'll RT or MT yours too.

Charities: lottery, and an giveaway!

I'm not sure I can keep all the charities in order.  But I'll try.

I'm including my previous blog post, where I thought only three charities existed.  (Except I was sure it was four, and I had forgotten one; and that was true.)  Specifically, the main ALS/MND fund, the Prince's Trust -- these are both active right now -- and the upcoming Annos Africa charity auction.

Friday, June 27, 2014

Birthday charities for Benedict.

We love to support Benedict in his charities.  We do.

I know of three currently active for summer 2014:  ALS/MND and Prince's Trust, and soon the Annos Africa auction.

(If you know any more, please shout out on Twitter.)

Here's the Prince's Trust.  They've passed 95% 102% of their goal as of today.  8)

(ETA for correction; not sure why I was getting the previous number.)

Thursday, June 26, 2014

Charity auction: incoming!

Makeup secrets, birthday fund, and World Cup... cake.

A few more images of Ben and that ball, via enerJax's tumblr and 'The World at His Feet' vid where Ben narrates... well, go check it out.  8)

Grab bag from Twitter and tumblr.

Lokke translates a Dutch article about Benedict here on her tumblr.

And there's a birthday giveaway/contest until tomorrow, 18-June -- move quickly! -- on the Sherlock DE tumblr.  The contest requires imagination, so be creative.

Third Star is being re-released; you can order it here, and the script book too.  (There's a brief review of Third Star on tumblr, no spoilers.)

Ben was at the Hay Festival last weekend.  Reading letters aloud.  Along with many other celebrities.

The Daily Mail has lots of pics [and a video] about Ben there.  8)  Bustle has two vids of Ben reading letters, and some pics too.

2014 Critics Choice Awards.

Martin is nominated for both Fargo and Sherlock:  His Last Vow at the Critics Choice Awards.  Ben is nominated for His Last Vow, and so is Amanda, as is the episode itself!  8)  Four for Team Sherlock, one for Team Fargo.  Well done, troops!

Cabin Pressure and Sherlock. Naturally.

A Tweep of mine reminded me that not everyone can access the BBC's iPlayer; it's blocked in some countries.  So if you haven't been able to listen to Cabin Pressure yet, check out the master post here [broken link] or the CP fansite for transcripts [updated 13-Dec-2014].

Many clever thoughts on s2 and s3.

Speculation on s3 AND s2.  So if you haven't seen s3, skip this.  Theories by the incomparable Final Problem on tumblr.

These are NOT all one-ep links, so read them at your peril.  They will often discuss multiple issues for different episodes.

Mark on s4; SH, Mummy and flowers.

Radio Times got about twenty seconds with Mark Gatiss about s4.  Digital Spy has a little more here [without audio], along with the surety that there will be a whole season, not a one-off.  8D

The entire BAFTA 2014 interview is here, over seven minutes.  Beware:  S3 spoilers included!

Amanda is staying off Twitter -- possibly just on the nights it airs? -- to avoid Fargo spoilers.  I still haven't seen Fargo myself, and couldn't get a hold of the first ep, so I may await reruns.

S3 spoilers after this point:
If you haven't seen s3 yet, don't continue.  Of course if you don't know what I mean yet, you may be perfectly safe.  No, really.

From Cumbercake to Cumberclay.

Have some Cumbercupcakes to go with that, a little SmaugBatch and... cute Sherlock with violin.  Of course.

Stayin' Alive... a Sherlock flashmob in Russia.  8)  Today's blog is brought to you by Twitter and Radio Times, also the letter C.

Filming s4 in 2015?  Well, maybe, according to Radio Times.

From this Tweet.  I doubt this is really from the Beeb, in case you're wondering.  [Fandom-made... is "statistically probable," to paraphrase Sherlock.]  But isn't that image impressive?

Cumberbatched 8)

Ahhh, dear tumblr, source of so much that is 'Batched!

Such as Lovely Luke in Murder Is Easy and Sherlock in s3 [looks like ep2 to me], and Sherlock in s2, the Palace.

Plus the awkward first date in Hawking... which someday will be re-released so I can see it, argh!

Ben: audio on Putin, etc.

Did you hear what Benedict said about Putin's law?  No?  Enjoy!

Cumberbatched pics...

Sorry to vanish again.  Interruptions... life... bah.  Getting in the way of the Benedict Cumberbatch Situation (from 2012).

X of Cabin Pressure; Una's birthday; Sherlock delay confirmed.

Ooooh, not only Wokingham, but Xinzhou is also available for the next seven (7!) days.

Yes, I know, Wokingham's week was supposed to be up soon, but apparently Radio 4 loves that ep too, because they both say seven days to listen right now!

Oh, darling Cabin Pressure, I wish I'd known sooner that s4 was on.  I am terribly sorry not to have heard s4's ep1, ep2, and ep3.

May Radio 4 keep giving us replays of s4 to bide us until Zurich airs!

Wokingham!

I didn't know that the BBC was playing s4 of Cabin Pressure right now.

But if you hurry, there's four (4!) days left to listen to Wokingham.  Go listen, do -- it is hilarious!

I tend to follow along with the ep transcript, which also helps if you're dying with laughter, like I was.

What a fabulous ep!

If you have not heard the rest of s4, I think you're completely safe in listening to this ep.  Wokingham all made perfect sense to me.

Until now, I had heard all eps from A through S.  So everything from s1, s2, and s3, including the first Christmas special [s2 e7].

SPOILERS:  For people who've heard both Wokingham and its predecessor, Vaduz, here's some behind-the-scenes commentary from the transcriber, Ariane DeVere.  Those eps were recorded for s4 on 16-December-2012.

A one-off ep? Plus Snowbatch!

What about a one-off ep of Sherlock before s4?  Martin spilled this possibility on Chatty Man last week; see HuffPo for the scoop!

Or, to be honest, anywhere, since they all say the same thing.  It's probably what Martin said on the 25-April-2014 episode of Chatty Man.

=grin=  The tease.

SPOILERS FOR S3:  In case that wasn't enough, Cultbox has begun collecting their ‘Sherlock’ Series 4 news summary, as of 18-April-2014.  These are Things Team Sherlock -- cast and creators -- have said.  If you haven't seen the s3 finale, don't read that link!

Grab-bag: All sorts of things.

Ooooh, more Study in Pink speculation!

Poor Mycroft.  It really was not a shining moment for the Holmes brothers, was it?  Never try to outdo your brother... either brother!  It never ends well.

"Sibling rivalry... now we're getting somewhere."

Missing John Watson?  Here's a link to some promo s1 pics of Martin as John.  8)

Buzzfeed interview's title is misleading, as it has very little about Benedict; but if you're interested in what's behind the writing of the Turing biopic, you'll be fascinated.  I was.

And here's more lovely promo pics of s3 via deareje (and Lokke)!

S4 production delay: Shakespeare, Fargo.

Hypable summarizes Martin talking about producing s4... after Richard III, in which Martin stars from July through September 2014.

Per Anglophenia at BBC America, Ben will also play Richard III, for the BBC, in three plays:  Henry VI parts 1 and 2, and Richard III.

Martin's starring in Fargo on FX right now -- I missed the premiere, but I think we can still get it before the series ends.  You can see the Fargo miniseries trailer over at Digital Spy.

If you look at the FargoFX Twitter, some of their Tweets will give you an idea about what Fargo is like.  I've never seen the movie inspiration, but I understand that if you like dark humor AND gruesome, then that's your guide.

Stills from s3 and eyecandy.

Sorry to meander off...

I appreciate all your patience when I wander in and out of life.  Messing up my blogging.  :/  Here's to you from me via Team Sherlock!

Cumberbatched

Cumberbatched indeed!

Interview with Benedict at Adelaide Now, April 2014.  Some pointing with an award...  Smiling with Sam Kassover.

Have you seen Ben really with the dogs yet?  No?  I'll pull those into another post, I haven't got the full link handy.  :/

Metas on His Last Vow.

Oh dear darling tumblr... our source of speculation and...

If you didn't like Vow, here are some others who critique it, such as earlgreytea and marsdaydream.

More crits on specifics, such as the grace cycle about the ----, and
makethemintoshoes covers the ending.

About our villains (from batlock).  Yes, plural.

Weekend eye candy-- and contest!

It's a lovely report.

More Ben in the NY Times.  Recording Zurich for Cabin Pressure.

Mmm, images of Sherlock and John on the escalator in Blind Banker.

Semi-spoilery:  Gif set coincidence -- from Sign and Baskerville.

Johnlock series and a meta.

Spoilery.

This won't please all Johnlock fans, but if you're into meta, here's some meta about John Watson's sexuality from ivyblossom.  Sexual identity IS complicated.

Cabin Pressure... yellow car!

On Monday I listened to Ottery St Mary.  That helped improve life immeasurably.  8)

If you haven't heard it yet, don't delay.  It's another brilliant episode of Cabin Pressure from season 3.

You could actually listen to Ottery St Mary without knowing anything else of the show, but it's great listening in order, which I've been doing with the eps.

Here's John Finnemore's blog post about Ottery St Mary, which is one of my favorites now.  Don't read that post until AFTER you hear the ep!

I'm slowly getting through season 3, and I'll probably have to buy season 4 from Amazonia.  Although their sellers failed me twice, and Barnes and Noble could only get me s1-3.  So it's that or direct from the BBC Store.

BBC and s3 spoilers.

A really cool Cabin Pressure poster off tumblr.

Benedict is the voice of Rumpole of Rumpole of the Bailey for BBC 4 -- and they have episode one airing for the next 4-5 days only.  Rumpole and the Old Boy Net it's called.

Twittery visual spoilers.

Say it with me:  SPOILERS!

I lied.  Of course we can have another post completely of Tweets showcasing s3!

Coriolanus and Cabin Pressure...

Coriolanus news:  Mark Gatiss and Tom Hiddleston were both nominated for the Olivier!

Thursday, March 13, 2014

Bits of Sign that I loved: spoilers!

These are all s3 spoilers.  Really not kidding.

And because these can't ALL be Tweets, Radio Times summed up the stag do for us.  8D  Cheers!

Some news, some s3 spoilers.

Mark notes that there is no Sherlock without Benedict... adding, I am sorry to say, the sort of comment that Steven would make!

More news on Sherlocked -- the convention planned for venues in the UK and USA.  Okay, let's be honest, a tiny bit of news!

But don't blame the messenger[s] as the post was written by Sherlockology.  No one has more details as of yet, apparently.  o.o

March has come and so I will attempt to keep screening direct spoilers.

Oscar photobomb...

I heard about this... so I wanted to see who Ben did it to.

The Metro knows.  8)  That seems to be the top news item for "Oscars 2014" and Ben for some odd reason.

In case you were wondering:  Yes, 12 Years a Slave won best picture!  Ben was there to present The Great Gatsby with best production design.

And Ellen crashed Twitter.  In case you didn't know.

Sorry to tease you and go; still having computer problems [!] and must reboot.  Again.

King of the Internet...

Pure bonus:  The Cumberbatch special, or as Buzzfeed calls it-- 37 Times In 2013 Benedict Cumberbatch Proved He Was King Of The Internet.

Because let's face it.  If you're here, you wanted to lose hours of your life that involved Benedict Cumberbatch, didn't you?

Of course you did!

Be gentle with the Internet tomorrow, Benedict... oh, hell.  You know and I know that Ben presenting at the Oscars is gonna crash things.  (ALL the things!)  Say goodnight, Gracie.

UK viewers can watch the Oscars at Sky Movies Oscars Sunday night, per Cumberbatchweb.

That link also has some pictures of Zurich -- the final recording of Cabin Pressure.  Here's Radio Times' account of the recording.

P.S.  There are NO spoilers for Sherlock s3 nor Cabin Pressure inside either link.  Both Buzzfeed and Cumberbatchweb play fair.  8)

Because "it's what you like--"

This post in a nutshell:  Oscars 2014, BBC Sherlock, Cabin Pressure, COSI.  Not in that order.

Den of Geek, bless 'em, point out that (just possibly) s3 IS what we like! in Sherlock, Shark-jumping, and the Casual Viewer.  Beware s3 spoilers.

I would tend to agree.  It's been an awesome series.  Even with the gripes I have for Some Things.  8)

Molly: Loo and s3!

S3 spoilers inside!

Buzzfeed wants to tell you 28 reasons to worship Louise Brealey.

The Herald Magazine's cover story:  Sherlock's Louise Brealey...  and also Steven Moffat talks about another particular s3 casting choice.

I could tell that Steven was having fun with that little interview.  You can almost see him grinning through the screen!  8)

Also... Den of Geek reviews The Sign of Three.  8)

Sunday, February 23, 2014

He's got a new box.

Major SPOILERS for s3.

For that to make sense, you need to read this amazing and insightful essay about Sherlock, John, and s3 by acafanmom.  Brilliant.

Done that?  Okay.

Saturday, February 22, 2014

A brief news post.

You know you're asking that if you've seen all of s3 already!

News about Hamlet via the Cumberbatchweb tumblr as of 10-December-2013.  Note that it's mostly good news, so take heart!  Ben is slated for the West End in 2014.

Ben, Cabin Pressure, 12 Years a Slave, etc.

Cabin Pressure fans break Radio 4 records with the final episode of Cabin Pressure to be recorded this month.
