Miscellaneous Tweets.

Grab bag: April cons, vids, etc.

Fan vids!  You've missed them, you know.  ;)

Moonmouse did two silly ones that I like.  It took several watches before I stopped cracking up, in fact.

TMBG via Moonmouse!  Particle Man (Sherlock BBC) and Birdhouse In Your Soul (Sherlock and John + They Might Be Giants).

In the s3 spoiler zone:  liar | Sherlock BBC by Katrin Depp; also expect feels.

Third Star...

Third Star!  At last, I finally got to see it 25-January-15.  Been waiting a long while for TS to be aired in my area.

Lovely movie.  There is sadness, but funnies too.

If you haven't seen it, you may want to skip the movie trailer at Digital Spy.  It has a few spoilers.  I only knew the famous quote, and it's a good one, but you may want to avoid that as well.  Or not.

Note that audience has more affection (and love) for Third Star than critics did; certainly this is true at Rotten Tomatoes, and most 'Batch fans are quite keen on Third Star.  Expect feels!

I really want to see Third Star again, without commercial breaks -- the station broke scenes in really bizarre places.

If you have seen the movie, Roger Ebert wrote a really good review -- very in-depth and with spoilers -- about Third Star and his own father.  Roger has several great pics.

Hamlet and auction news.

From the Telegraph: Benedict Cumberbatch: a Hamlet worth waiting for.  They also note that production will run from 6 August to 31 October 2015.

2014 master post: Ben's birthday charities.

When I began this post, I knew of seven fundraisers at present to honor Ben and the charities he supports.  There are more.  Naturally.

I've been blogging about the fundraisers, with more details if I had them.

I don't think I'll be able to update this list any more due to July work... but I will re-post this master post link (via Twitter) during July so they all get a chance to be seen.  If you reply to my Tweets, I'll RT or MT yours too.

Charities: lottery, and an giveaway!

I'm not sure I can keep all the charities in order.  But I'll try.

I'm including my previous blog post, where I thought only three charities existed.  (Except I was sure it was four, and I had forgotten one; and that was true.)  Specifically, the main ALS/MND fund, the Prince's Trust -- these are both active right now -- and the upcoming Annos Africa charity auction.

From Cumbercake to Cumberclay.

Have some Cumbercupcakes to go with that, a little SmaugBatch and... cute Sherlock with violin.  Of course.

Weekend eye candy-- and contest!

It's a lovely report.

More Ben in the NY Times.  Recording Zurich for Cabin Pressure.

Mmm, images of Sherlock and John on the escalator in Blind Banker.

Semi-spoilery:  Gif set coincidence -- from Sign and Baskerville.

Cabin Pressure... yellow car!

On Monday I listened to Ottery St Mary.  That helped improve life immeasurably.  8)

If you haven't heard it yet, don't delay.  It's another brilliant episode of Cabin Pressure from season 3.

You could actually listen to Ottery St Mary without knowing anything else of the show, but it's great listening in order, which I've been doing with the eps.

Here's John Finnemore's blog post about Ottery St Mary, which is one of my favorites now.  Don't read that post until AFTER you hear the ep!

I'm slowly getting through season 3, and I'll probably have to buy season 4 from Amazonia.  Although their sellers failed me twice, and Barnes and Noble could only get me s1-3.  So it's that or direct from the BBC Store.

S3 spoilers, The Network, swag: oh my!

Spoiler season not over yet:  S3 spoilers... everywhere!

Today's post is primarily brought to you by our friends at Sherlockology.

Yes, the BBC Shop has got Sherlock swag for you, but there are s3 spoilers, so avoid if you haven't seen any of s3 yet!

Pre-order s3 on iTunes UK; and blocking spoilers.

Because Christmas is coming, and so is Sherlock.  Maybe he'll wear the antlers for Mrs Hudson this time?

Non-spoiler review of s3 ep 1 by our pals at Sherlockology!

Another non-spoiler review of Martin meeting Benedict, in both The Hobbit and s3 ep1.

About s3 spoilers: The Baker Street Babes have some tips for us all.

Bonus:  Christmas cupcakes from the delightful maker Cumbercupcakes, vereentjoeng!

Keep calm, fandom.

... because you know he is.  (In January 2014 if you watch PBS.)  Check your local listings, nearby countries, and possibly Amazon too until the BBC announces their programming schedule.

And I wager John's fist is ALLLLL ready for that day!

Many thanks to the fantastic Lokke for letting me use her picture.  [I have the best Tweeps EVER.]  Here it is on her tumblr.

This is the Lokke who made The Cake btw.  Yes, THAT Sherlock Cake.

The Cheltenham Lit Fest cake that James Rhodes teased Benedict about... on Twitter.  I wonder if James emailed the pics to Ben?  Bet he did!

Psst!  She made Sherlock wallpaper cards too.  Check 'em out!

Yes, this mini-CheltLitFest 2012 reunion brought to you courtesy of Twitter and tumblr.  The InterWebs thank you.

Sherlock swag and quizzes.

Radio Times loves us!  They're doing s1 and s2 quizzes.

Quiz One:  A Study in Pink
Quiz Two:  The Blind Banker
Quiz Three:  The Great Game

If you have NOT seen 2012 Sherlock, beware s2 spoilers.

Quiz Four:  Scandal in Belgravia
Quiz Five:  The Hounds of Baskerville
Quiz Six:  The Reichenbach Fall

RT also asks:  What official Sherlock merchandise would YOU like to see?

Here I think perhaps their research has failed them... as RedBubble, deviantArt, etsy, and other sites are already supplying this need for fans.  Being rather weary of the Beeb's slowness on supplying goodies.

The Sheetlock body pillowcase was up for sale not long ago as well -- sorry! it's gone from StorEnvy now, but the tumblr image remains.

That was via the WearSherlock tumblr.  8)  If you can't find the Sherlock DVDs, they have them too!  If you want SH props and swag, that's your source.

Psst!  In case you were wondering, SherLEGO will be voted on come January 2014.  Go fandom!!!

Vote for BBC Sherlock LEGOs (and NTA 2014)!

Sherlock LEGO set.  You know you want it!  Here's the SherLEGO tag at Sherlockology.

To vote and get LEGO to make them, visit their website.  They won't make it without 10,000 supporters; today the LEGO team left a comment applauding BBC Sherlock fans for reaching 5,000.  8)

And strangely enough, the current supporter count is 6,892.  (It was 6,841 when I began writing this post less than forty minutes ago.)  We can definitely pass 10,000 before the 6-January-2014 deadline!  Voting open to anyone.

Moriarty was added 16-Sept-13.

(FYI, this would be Martin Freeman's second LEGO character, since his Bilbo has already unlocked the LEGO achievement with The Hobbit.)

And in case LEGOs weren't enough, both Ben and Martin have been nominated individually in TV Detectives at the National Television Awards 2014.  Voting open to UK fans -- so please vote!

BBC 4 airing Cabin Pressure.

In case you've wanted to hear Cabin Pressure, the lovely BBC Radio 4 has been playing the eps.  I've been listening to series 1.

Each ep is available for one week.

I was reading the transcripts first, but I found that I want to hear later eps without knowing what's happening.  (Although this does NOT spoil s1e1 Abu Dhabi in any way -- it's a scream either read or heard!)  You probably don't want to do anything else the first time you hear Cabin Pressure.  When I read Abu Dhabi, I laughed so hard I cried.

And I find it really hard to stop listening, I just keep hitting replay...

Right now they're on s1e4:  Douz.  Funny Douz!  So far Abu Dhabi and Douz are my favorites.  I expect once I've heard more eps, I'll have lots more favorites.  So will you.  Geronimo!

Many thanks to the CP fan site, the BBC, and to my Tweeps who wisely persuaded me to try this show.  It's BRILLIANT.

Go buy CP so you can listen over and over!  Each series is less than US$10 or about £5.49 as of now.  There are currently four series of Cabin Pressure.  Psst!  You can also buy CP swag from RedBubble on the fan site.  :)

Just Cumberbatched... SDCC and Sherlocked.

Fan art:  A truly marvelous drawing of Ben.  Plus artwork off deviantart for his Trek character (no spoilers!).

Digital Spy has audio!  Benedict Cumberbatch reads 'Flat of Angles' poem.

The San Diego Comic-con will have a 2013 Sherlock party per the Babes.  Attendance is limited, so buy your Sherlock party ticket NOW.

BTW, if you ever want to search tumblr, the Final Problem tells you how.  Bless!

The Hobbit, Trek, Sherlock Xmas.

Fan art:  Do not play with Moriarty.  He WILL outplay you.  A bit of silly Sherlock, aka pirate lock.

It's either The Hobbit or Star Trek, if not both, burning up the Internet.  So... let's go with Martin first, shall we?  Jump into the spoiler zone for both films (and season 2 of Sherlock):

Pics, posters, Cluedo, the usual things. ;)

Cumberbatched moments:  Adorable and oblivious.  Same shirt, still oblivious different pose -- nice HAT, Benedict!  Adorable but aware.  Benedict in shades, smiling.

Fan art:  The casting of Sherlock, according to Moffat poster.  Adorable Sherlock and John dolls!

The boys posing, Benedict in costume [but not in character]; Martin, hard to say!

Joe Rigg's take on what Sherlock and John say starting s3.

Sherlock Cluedo has been seen in grocery stores and Waterstones!  Lucky UK fans.

The Hobbit:  A poster of Peter Jackson's thoughts about casting Martin as Frodo.

Sherlocked images:  A moment off the rooftop scene in RF -- "One may smile, and smile, and be a villain."

The transmission schedule -- when Sherlock 3 will be shown on tv -- has not changed.  Repeat, they still believe we'll be seeing Sherlock again come fall or late 2013, depending on where you live.

And remember, the Mayans are coming... urm.  We can't let them keep us from Sherlock, so do not despair, and stock up your zombie slaying weaponry!
