Sherlockology has an Advent Calendar for Sherlock -- and you can win it!  Follow their social media.  Details here.

If you love dogs, check out the Dogs Trust charity in the UK.  Amanda is one of the stars sponsoring saving dogs instead of stupid excuses -- not the valid ones people may have -- to dump pets.

The Special will be showing in Belgium, which is new... have you checked Sherlockology for where TAB is showing for you???  I'm seeing only 12 countries/territories listed.  If yours isn't, ping Sherlockology and ask!

Beware, some minor SPOILERS EXIST after this point.

BAFTA TV awards.

Congratulations to Benedict Cumberbatch, who is nominated for #BAFTATV Leading Actor. His third for #Sherlock! http://t.co/IREPvGBEWH

Ben's been nominated for six BAFTAs thus far and won the 2013 Britannia BAFTA.

Contests: Anglo FF and RT.

Team Sherlock was sweeping the female Anglo Fan Favorites -- almost!  Una and Loo won their bouts in Round 1, but Lara didn't.

Loo is just behind in her match this time around.

Una is against Helen, so I'm afraid the uneven match will be her undoing.  8(

This round of Anglo Fan Faves ends Friday on 12-December 11am ET.  But--!
In case Anglo Fan Faves' Round 2 wasn't enough... get yourselves ready.

There's another contest.

S4, Una, a fan vid; Anglo FF.

Reasons why we love Una Stubbs -- tumblr user jennylevey would like to send Una a collection of these.  Do reblog, I pray you!

Your Love Is My Drug - Sherlock by Lemon Swordfish

One of my favorite instrumental fan vids, all s1.  It's lovely.  I could listen to it for hours (and sometimes do).

Both Ben and Martin got swept out of Anglo Fan Faves.  (So did Tom Hiddleston, which is a bit shocking.  Loki lost to the Doctor!)  I suspect the actors who were cheering their fans on got more than a little boost.  I don't recall that happening before.

So if you're still voting, Thorin's against the Tenth Doctor, while the Outlander is crushing Merlin.  I feel this is fitting, since Smaug should've won, clearly.  ;b

Snapshot of Anglo Fan Faves, Women 2014, which starts 1-Dec-14.  Note that Lara, Loo, and Una are all in again this time around!  But... Amanda isn't.

If you haven't seen all of s3 yet, avoid this.  Possible s4 spoilers -- and just as likely, Mark just messing with us.  Like he and Steven tend to do.  :D

Ben's interviews this week; Anglo FF.

Tonight Ben was with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show.  I lucked out and turned on TV just in time.

Anglo Quarterfinals; HFA awards and TIG!

See how many celebrity impersonations #BenedictCumberbatch can do in a minute. The #ImitationGame. http://t.co/XnHbpSB78q
— The Imitation Game (@ImitationGame) November 15, 2014

The Imitation Game is out in the UK as of 14-Nov-14, and will be out soon -- elsewhere on 28-Nov-14.  (I'm finding mixed messages, some say that TIG is out in the USA on 21st, some the 28th, so check your local listings.)

And The Imitation Game got four Hollywood Film Awards!

Of 16 Anglo Fan Favorites--

The Hobbit/John Watson, Sherlock/Smaug, and Mycroft made it to Round 2!  All 16 contenders.

As did the three latest Doctors, and in a just universe, they'd just put Ten, Eleven, and Twelve against each other, but alas, not the case here.  :b  (Right now Tennant is destroying Capaldi.)  The matchups are getting cruel...

Mycroft, er, Mark is losing to Loki.

Martin is up against the Doctor.  (Don't panic, Arthur!)  Andrew lost to Matt Smith after a tight race; he's only a Time Lord, Bilbo has the Ring, right?

Ben is winning tonight, but against Harry Potter aka Daniel Radcliffe, will he keep it up?  Thus far...

Considering that of course Gandalf/Magneto made it, but Picard/Professor X didn't, well.

Round 2 closes 11am ET Friday, 14-Nov-14.

Anglo Fan Favorites 2014... and sex.

"32 British celebrities, five rounds, one winner" at BBC America... Will Tom Hiddleston win again?

All 16 matches for Round 1.  Plus a LOT of fandoms are represented.  I'm mentioning Team Sherlock, which includes The Hobbit too, along with Star Trek.  :)

Ben's GQ, UK raffle, Mark's Reddit...

Ben's GQ is sold out.  Apparently Benedict won their award or something, and you know how that makes magazines vanish.  Of course, his drunken acceptance speech on tumblr has already made fandom very happy.

Don't worry, they'll make more GQ just for us.

Vanity Fair, bless 'em, took his speech in stride.  Don't you love finding fellow Cumberfans?

Rumors, two contests, and TSoT.

MTV wants to know if Sherlock is the best fandom, and if you're on tumblr, you can vote!

SK Confessional says rumors are already flying about Ben in Frozen 2, if the dream-casting goes as planned.

SK Confessional: I’m obsessed with Benedict Cumberbatch, and here's why.

Grab bag from Twitter and tumblr.

Lokke translates a Dutch article about Benedict here on her tumblr.

And there's a birthday giveaway/contest until tomorrow, 18-June -- move quickly! -- on the Sherlock DE tumblr.  The contest requires imagination, so be creative.

Third Star is being re-released; you can order it here, and the script book too.  (There's a brief review of Third Star on tumblr, no spoilers.)

Weekend eye candy-- and contest!

It's a lovely report.

More Ben in the NY Times.  Recording Zurich for Cabin Pressure.

Mmm, images of Sherlock and John on the escalator in Blind Banker.

Semi-spoilery:  Gif set coincidence -- from Sign and Baskerville.

S3 reviews of TEH: spoilers!

Well, okay, one thing that isn't a s3 spoiler.  Consider this candy.  8)

This Hiddleston vs. Cumberbatch Dance-Off Holds the Key to Inner Peace

Psst, remember, if you can live stream ep 1,

The Empty Hearse is on BBC One at 9pm GMT!

Yes, today, 3-Jan-2014.

Be aware that BBC One says Sherlock's on BBC Three.  But the two channels link back and forth to each other.  So be sure to check up early if you're doing a live stream.

London 2014: PBS Masterpiece contest.

Masterpiece sweepstakes to visit London in 2014; for American and Canadian fans.  Sorry to my fellow Sherlockians elsewhere!  8(

I heard about this via a friend's Tweet.  Do invite your friends too from the Sweepstakes website!  If you've friends in the States, do please tell them (and then make them take pics for you!).

It should tell you what kind of Anglophile I am... that I was getting excited about various parts of London and not so much about Downton Abbey.  It's a lovely place, certainly, but London is more appealing to me, sorry!

I am a Downton fan, but not a Downton fangirl.  That is the difference.

Also, there are many places in London, historically, that get me geeked.  Streets.  Buildings.  London Bridge...  Theaters, parks...  This isn't even getting into the rest of England!

Vote for BBC Sherlock LEGOs (and NTA 2014)!

Sherlock LEGO set.  You know you want it!  Here's the SherLEGO tag at Sherlockology.

To vote and get LEGO to make them, visit their website.  They won't make it without 10,000 supporters; today the LEGO team left a comment applauding BBC Sherlock fans for reaching 5,000.  8)

And strangely enough, the current supporter count is 6,892.  (It was 6,841 when I began writing this post less than forty minutes ago.)  We can definitely pass 10,000 before the 6-January-2014 deadline!  Voting open to anyone.

Moriarty was added 16-Sept-13.

(FYI, this would be Martin Freeman's second LEGO character, since his Bilbo has already unlocked the LEGO achievement with The Hobbit.)

And in case LEGOs weren't enough, both Ben and Martin have been nominated individually in TV Detectives at the National Television Awards 2014.  Voting open to UK fans -- so please vote!

Anglo Fan Favorites: Women!

Oh no!!!  Anglo Fan Favorites has put Team Sherlock against two Doctor Who companions and the Dowager Countess!

Loo (Louise Brealey)... Molly is almost 20 percent behind her opponent.

Lara Pulver, who will be in The Man Who Would Be Bond next... Irene Adler is almost 50 percent behind her opponent.

And Mrs. Hudson has just over 14 percent now, putting her 71 percent behind Dame Maggie Smith.  Who I do love, mind you; but she doesn't need me like Una does in this race.  :/

Voting ends 5-Sept-13 at 11am Eastern.  You can vote hourly; please do!

Choose! Semifinals of Fandom Wars.

I want to cherish this image right now.

Because this death match will NOT be pretty, fandom.  Right now BBC Sherlock is crushing Harry Potter, for which I'm grateful... tentatively.  I know it won't last!

As you see, Supernatural is in the wrong position, as Doctor Who is crushing them.  I expect DW will prevail there.

The other reason I want to cherish this is that the 3 Chic Geeks are funny.  Their summary yesterday is perfect.  Sherlock cannot be out-sulked.  (NO, he can't!!)  Rowling trumps GRRM.  Trek decimated by a Time Lord.  You get the picture.

Round 4 has 72 hours from sometime yesterday.  You may ONLY vote once for each category.

So who is it?  Sherlock or Harry??  The Doctors -- all of them -- or Supernatural?
Pick one from each!  8)  Tell your friends, confuse your enemies... erm.

Eye candy, Jerusalem, and Hawking.

First, Stephen Hawking and Benedict Cumberbatch in a very brief video about Hawking.

Cheekbones alert!  Because you know and I know what a great sign that is!  Thanks to virtualloki's tumblr for the pic; Tweeted here.

Alas, we didn't push Alan out of Anglo 2013 Semifinals... but we sure pushed hard.  Whoo-hoo, Cumbercollective!  8)  Ben's score kept going up (reaching 42.55%) although Alan retained his 15% lead.

So that means that Loki =cough= Hiddles will go against Snape.  Make sure to vote in the Anglo 2013 Finals if you want to aid them in their quest.

Everything after the break is some level of spoiler, mostly for s2, maybe s4:

Psst, Anglo Semifinals ends today!

Semifinals for Anglo Fan Favorites wraps today.  Voting closes 22-August-13 at 11am Eastern (GMT -4).

So mere hours left.  We fans have been mobilizing!

Ben was going below 41 percent.  Now his score is going up, and right now it's 42.12 percent.  You can watch the points rising.  Bless fandom.

Whether Cumbercookies, Cumbercollective, or Cumber-whatever-else... Sherlockians, Trek fans, LOTR fans, Cabin Pressure fans... we're all in this together.  You're fine whatever fandoms you're part of.  Remember that.

Please vote hourly and, if you're a fan of Ben and/or Team Sherlock... do please vote for Ben!  Many thanks.  Cumberhugs!

P.S.  If you're on tumblr, please reblog this post and tag it Benedict Cumberbatch, please please!  Thank you!!

Thanks, WETA; please vote Anglo Fan semifinals!

May 2013, Sherlockian (Lacy) at WETA wrote Filming wraps on Episode 2, Airdate Rumors Debunked.  Do read if you want to know what BBC factors would preclude Sherlock s3 airing in September, October, or November 2013.

Remember that Sue Vertue herself said September is not happening.  And she would know!

Spoiler zone

WETA has the July 2013 vids of Ben doing Top Gear.  STID and RF in one vid.

WETA also has a great 2012 piece about Reichenbach.  (I'd put a bunch of speculation links next, but just visit the Final Problem in sidebar.  It's easier.)

Anglo Fan Favorites has 34 hours left -- but although Ben and Alan were really close at the start, things are looking bad for our Sherlock.  I haven't given up yet.

Please vote as much as you can!  Bribe your friends and family, tell your enemies a vote for Ben would make you cry -- anything possible!  Well, almost anything.

If you have tumblr, PLEASE post "vote!" links there too.  Thanks!
