Happy 37th birthday, Benedict!

So there's this great site, happybirthdayBenedict... that sometime after Ben's birthday we can leave him notes at.  This site's the coolest thing ever, for Ben as well as all of us to enjoy.

Right now it's crammed with birthday wishes (this is Silvia's).  Here's the names of the fans who run the site; please tell them they're awesomesauce!

• Rachel  @Aristophrenic
• Silvia  @MsSilT
• Tor  @Cumberbuddy

Each of them did a birthday wish too.  Cumberbuddy's is a video -- which will probably make Ben cry again this year!  Rachel's has a world map, showing you what countries' fans are from.

And for all of us, here's a birthday wish with major feels.  It's beautiful, it's painful, it's all of us. I would be amazed if any Sherlockian did not know how this felt.

Cumberbuddy appended this comment at her tumblr: "w o w! you lovely talented thing you. don’t let the bastards grind you down! benedict will love this, i just know it."

I don't know if Ben's awake yet.  He might be.  But it's his birthday now where I am.  8)  Happy birthday, Ben!  We love you.

Cumberbatched:  Gif of Ben's reaction to birthday cake ornament... sort of.
Ben in Japan photoset.  Ben responding to audience.

Just the STID cake and Ben.  Smaller close-up of the cake.

For more from deareje, try this link for 2013Tokyo.  Here's the Tokyo press conference dated 16-July-2013 if you'd like to listen to it.

Pics can also be found via the Twitter tag #BCpresser, as I did last night here.

Many thanks to deareje and Cumberbuddy for all these wondrous pics, and madaBenedict, and to everyone else who shared!

Fan vids and Ben's birthday and...

Psst!  Remember, Ben's birthday is Friday 19-July.  If you meant to send him birthday wishes on Happy Birthday Benedict, the deadline's Thursday 18-July.  And that site is open to anyone, you don't need a tumblr account!

Spoiler zone of season 2 and Trek:

If Sherlock was an animated show, using screen caps from A Scandal in Belgravia.

Sherlock BBC | fun!trailer by Katrin Depp... whose vids are marvelous.

STID spoilers in New Star Trek comics...  (I included this because I loved the last line of the io9 article.)

Cumberbatched and... Dear Jim.

Cumberbatched:  Hide and seek.  Smiling in Murder Is Easy.  Photoset -- so cute (red carpet).  Some quotes from the Caitlin Moran interview of Ben, May 2013.  (Alas, the rest is gone off tumblr, probably from copyright infringement.)

Fan art, or how to follow instructions if you're Sherlock.  [Alas, link broken! 26-Dec-14.]

Sherlock:  "Bored."

A BBC/Cumberbatch mashup.

When fandoms collide:  Sherlock s2e2 modified with dialog from Cabin Pressure.  If you haven't seen Sherlock series 2, you may want to skip this.

-- Note that I do not consider this very spoilery, as the images don't really tell you what was going on during Baskerville.  But you may disagree if it ruins that CP ep for you!

'Here ya are, Skip. Nice hot cup of coffee.''Agh! It's cold!''Nice cup of coffee.''It's horrible!''Cup of coffee.'#CabinPressure
