MTV says Benedict Cumberbatch Is Engaged, So Why Is The Internet Still Working?
A sampling of Tweets... along with the NY Post's Twitter reacts to Benedict Cumberbatch's engagement. Which is not how everyone's taking it, but hey, they want to focus on unhappy weeping, then that's their choice. Bustle is surprised by tumblr's reaction.

The Daily Mail has an article about Sophie Hunter.
If you're upset about the engagement, fair enough. That's your prerogative. Please, please, don't be hateful. Probably you won't be. Because we're fans.
Be happy for Ben and Sophie, I pray you. He deserves to be happy, he's our Sherlock... who should get his chance to dance. Ben's a wonderful guy; maybe he'll take some time to rest now!
ETA: I wonder how many people are teasing Wanda about her son getting his "bird" at last? :D Fans are happy he's engaged at Metro UK.
The Daily Dot gets the last word, because they have not only James Rhodes' own Tweet, but more links from happy fans on tumblr.
