2015 Letters Live; vote for RT BAFTA!

Remember Letters Live?  Not only is Letters Live back -- and with Dear Bessie again too -- but Sunny March promises to tape it for us.

Per the Guardian, "Letters Live takes place from 31 March to 4 April and will raise money for literacy charities the Reading Agency, First Story and Ministry of Stories."

"Yours in distress" Benedict Cumberbatch reads Alan Turing's letter to Norman Routledge video... in character as Alan Turing.

Oscars and TIG; Rupert pics and Fargo; Ben's schedule??

Vids from yesterday: Ben visits Jimmy Kimmel (during Ben's honeymoon!) and talks about The Imitation Game, Alan Turing, and the UK petition (blog post) -- the petition itself is at Pardon49k.org.

For a brief change of pace, have some s3 pics of our Silver Fox on the side.  Moving from Sherlock to Fargo...

BAFTA 2015; Sherlocked in UK.

The BAFTA Awards are this Sunday!  Expect that the Interweb will be full of BAFTA buzz on 8-February-2015.  Radio Times says that Ben, Hiddles, and Martin will attend; Martin's one of the presenters per Digital Spy!

The Imitation Game has 9 BAFTA nominations.  I hope Ben and Team TIG win several BAFTAs!

Apparently since Boyhood's been the favorite of late, that's what people think will win the BAFTAs.  I really hope that it's not the only winner, that would be awful for all the other movies.  Unfair too.

I still haven't seen TIG, but I trust all the folks who've been telling me TIG rocks.  We knew it would rock!

Of course my next favorite would be Eddie in The Theory of Everything because it's about Stephen Hawking, and that also looks incredible -- but I've seen The Grand Budapest Hotel and it's a really bizarre and funny movie.  So that's the order I'm pulling for.

Grab bag: petition, Martin, TIG, Ian, awards--

I told you everything leads back to Hawking.  ;b

And Sherlock s3 ep3: His Last Vow won the ACE Eddie award yesterday.

TIG nominations; SH fan vid.

I can't keep up.  This is award season.  Just keep an eye out, I know I've missed things.  Ben got nominated for Oscars -- his first! -- for playing Alan Turing.

(Amusingly, the Guardian thinks Ben needs his own category in Alternate Oscars -- at the link's very end.)

The Imitation Game trailer at the Oscars' site is one I haven't seen yet, and it's really good!  TIG's got 8 Oscar nominations... pretty frickin' amazing.  Everyone I talk to recommends TIG.  8)

Fingers crossed for TIG, Ben, and Kiera to sweep the Oscars next month.

Martin and Ben: BBC2 and Globes.

Aside from filming Sherlock, another place to find Martin this month:

Hawking this weekend!

A brief interruption to your scheduled programming... the BBC's Hawking will air this Saturday, 10-Jan-15, on the Discovery Channel at 10pm.  In the States and also the UK, it looks like.

Ben starred in this 2004 biopic, and it's rather hard to get hold of.

Today is also Stephen Hawking's 73rd birthday.

Benedict Hails the Unsung Heroes of British Film

Ben's got 2 nominations at the Screen Actors Guild awards, for The
Imitation Game
AND for BBC Sherlock!

TV Choice Awards: 2 for Sherlock!

LFCC, 2014 Emmy list, s3...

ETA:  Radio Times is doing a TV Champions poll.  Right now is the Finals -- it's Benedict against David Tennant.
Really close; do be sure to vote before 6-August-14!

Did you want to see all the 2014 Emmy nominations Sherlock got?

A video from the London Film and Comic Con 2014 that includes Sue, Mark, and Steven.  Possibly has spoilers, but knowing them, probably just teasers.  This is a preview of the Sherlocked convention also.  8)

Saturday is Ben's birthday...

And I won't be online.

So if you are -- and I'm hoping you are for a bit -- please make sure to check out all the charities sponsored in Ben's name.

Batch of Kindness is on 19-July in particular because Ben asked us to share with others.  The Cumbercollective is definitely stepping up to the plate as requested; we have a brilliant and generous fandom.

2014 Emmy nominations, Comic-Con...

Emmy Awards 2014: Sherlock scoops nominations -- which really means Team Sherlock and Fargo!  Plus 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor got a nomination for another show.

It's turning into the 6 Degrees from Team Sherlock game!

2014 Critics Choice Awards.

Martin is nominated for both Fargo and Sherlock:  His Last Vow at the Critics Choice Awards.  Ben is nominated for His Last Vow, and so is Amanda, as is the episode itself!  8)  Four for Team Sherlock, one for Team Fargo.  Well done, troops!

Because "it's what you like--"

This post in a nutshell:  Oscars 2014, BBC Sherlock, Cabin Pressure, COSI.  Not in that order.

Den of Geek, bless 'em, point out that (just possibly) s3 IS what we like! in Sherlock, Shark-jumping, and the Casual Viewer.  Beware s3 spoilers.

I would tend to agree.  It's been an awesome series.  Even with the gripes I have for Some Things.  8)
