You are indeed right -- if you've thought I was bailing on this blog, I'm sorry. I was depressive during much of 2016.
Also, I was not a fan of the one-off episode (TAB) either. I still love the show BBC Sherlock, I do. Hell, I've arranged annual discussions at a local con for Sherlock fans.
Maybe we'll see a change in a couple years. Maybe not, also.
Time will tell, eh?
The entire Team SH has gotten so busy, and so popular-- which they all well deserve, and I'm over the moon for them all. 8)

More s4 reviews...
I should warn you that these contain spoilers -- AND that many are not flattering.
And I hadn't even discovered "The most furiously outraged critics" either!
The Daily Dot on The Six Thatchers, ep 1. The Guardian on The Final Problem, ep 3.
Vox reviews ep 3, the finale, and wonders if this is the last ep. IndieWire gives us ‘Sherlock’ Review: ‘The Final Problem’ Proves to Be A Problematic Season Finale (and sadly ‘Sherlock’ Star Amanda Abbington On Playing Newlyweds With Martin Freeman After Their Real-Life Split).
I hadn't known Martin and Amanda separated. :(

S4: Miss me?
Are you ready? #Sherlock pic.twitter.com/Y0AFAEfKIP— Sherlock (@Sherlock221B) January 1, 2017
Beware, s4 spoilers below! and thus links only.
I have created new tags for eps 1-3: Thatchers, TLD, TFP.
If you haven't seen the show yet, stop reading now. I mask spoilers, as always -- and later on, I'll post the setlock I meant to wrap up with. But this is the SPOILER ZONE. Watch your step!
These words from Steven Moffat last Thursday at the #Sherlock BFI screening had us cheering— Sherlockology (@Sherlockology) January 16, 2017
https://t.co/ziroskEld2
Note that Sherlockology has spoiler-free s4 reviews that may screw up your watching any ep the first time (ep 1 and ep 3, but not ep2) and so I do NOT RECOMMEND that you read those either. Just go watch s4 first.

Setlock, Emmys, Batch of Kindness, etc.

Remember that Batch of Kindness was on Ben's birthday this year. :) He turned 40 on 19-July-2016.
Fan culture has taken some hits in the media recently, but it can also be incredibly wonderful #BenedictCumberbatch https://t.co/Z7gGkypVwg— Batch of Kindness (@BatchOfKindness) June 10, 2016

Late May into June: setlock.
And here's Ruther's storify, part 8 and part 9, which ends May setlock.
(His part 10 storify just began on 5-June-2016, and yeah, I began this post around then!)
Part 11 is up -- and apparently so is part 16! Yes, you read that right. Here's part 12, part 13, part 14, and part 15.
I have not read them all (I just began reading 12, in fact). I can't speak for the goodies you'll find inside. So I'm about a week behind on setlock for now. :b
For those of you keeping track of birthdays, Benedict's is 19-July. I have some of Team Sherlock's birthdays scattered around the blog here, but nothing too current, I'm afraid. Apologies.

May: spoilers, setlock, etc.
Several Hamlets battle it out! Here's a vid of them that I hope you can see.
Loo Brealey on playing Molly via Final Problem.
Beryl Vertue got her CBE (and Arwel points out that they're in the background of the unaired pilot together).
Sherlockology's Doctor Strange primer. (I know it comes out this fall, and that Ben's the star, but otherwise it's not my cuppa, which is why I haven't covered DS much.)

April: mixed bag.
A variety of stuff today -- from speculation on s4 (thanks, Final Problem!) and the 2016 Special ep to Twitter and a fic. And Mark's award!
Fic written by A Study in Punk, one of the very best Sherlock RP players on Twitter: "Deus Ex Machina" -- not what you think.
AND Mark won an Olivier!
Final Problem gives you her spoiler policy, which is pretty thorough -- and describes how to block tags on tumblr. And since that's possibly why you're here, for spoilers...

PSA on setlock. :)
The Three Patch Podcast has, of course, a spoilercast for s4 setlock.
So, you should avoid them if you don't want to be spoiled. If you DO want setlock, rush right on over to Spoilercast 28. There's also LOTS of tags there. :D
Per Three Patch, s4 filming runs over quite a while: "Shooting dates, late March/early April through August" -- whooo!!
For those who do NOT want to be spoiled, you can block tags.
Whichever is your preference -- setlock or no setlock -- do respect your fellow fans. We do not have to agree. But we should get along.

(S2) Signaling.
And that was the signal!
I'd never noticed it before. Jim scares me. As well he should, he's a deeply scary man. Not human; he left humanity behind long ago, wearing his body like unwanted clothes.
Allow me to backtrack. I was rewatching a favorite fan video... it involves Reichenbach, so if any feels still bother you, you might want to skip the video itself.

All Tweets!
Happy New Sherlock Eve... pic.twitter.com/HcS5UbUzNb— Louise Brealey (@louisebrealey) December 31, 2015
I was in Loo's feed tonight, and thought it'd be fun to post some spoilery Tweets (instead of Doctor Strange links, sorry). I figured I'd start with a few that aren't spoilers -- then I changed my mind. :b
Of course, if you follow Loo on Twitter, then you already know the gist of this spoiler. :D
These are not masked. If you click down the page, you've let yourself in. Do not look unless you choose spoilerhood.
So... You have been warned! SPOILERS FOLLOW for the Special ep of s4.
Some are minor, some are definitely not minor.

Christmas and Team SH Tweets.
And because we can't stop thinking about our Christmas gift coming from the BBC...
Here's a trailer that is mildly spoilery for the special, using Mark's text (in second Tweet).

Team Sherlock (!) and Dr. Strange.
Actually, to sum up -- this is all Twittery and links which includes the Moff's award [go, Steven!] via Louis Moffat, plus Mark's interview, and then it's all Ben: Little Favour, Dr. Strange, Hollow Crown's Richard III.
Mark Gatiss is interviewed by Tor.com... and it's a lot of fun, trust me!
And there's also new promo pictures of Ben as Richard III out. They must be on tumblr -- and certainly on Twitter! -- 'cause I'm not finding them via Google. 8( Apparently the gif and the pics are clipped from the trailer for the BBC's upcoming show lineup.
