Halloween candy: the Special!

Herein be spoilers, so if you are avoiding all news of the 2015 Sherlock episode, aka the Sherlock special, this would be a post to skip.  Entirely.

For the first time ever, PBS viewers and BBC viewers get to see Sherlock on the same day, i.e., New Year's Day 2016.  Mark your calendars, fandom!

There are some lovely pictures in that link, so I've added it for us all to savor.

As per usual, I will not spell out spoilers.  I'll mask spoilers here until probably late January and/or early February.

That's after this ep has come out, since not everyone gets to see every thing on the Interweb and the big screen at the same exact moment.

However, if you move past the cut, you have willingly entered into the land of spoilers.  Things Moffat has admitted up front, and/or things Mark has dropped via Twitter, and/or the rest of Team Sherlock, which includes crew, cast, and everyone else official.

PBS: stream s3!

This may only for the USA -- sorry if that's so! -- but be sure to confirm it first.  Go try the links, do.

Because it's been announced on the PBS tumblr and Twitter; also Netflix, Apple TV, Roku, and mobile devices.

PBS is giving its viewership the gift of Sherlock s3.  For free.  Stream the 2014 episodes up through 25-Sept-2014.

Counterbatch, cosplay, deductions...

BBC America's recap of The Sign of Three.  Yep, spoilers.

Red's version -- sideways spoilers for Sign, trust me -- of PBS Counterbatch...  Via SherlockStuff's tumblr which is VERY spoilery for All Things s3.

Applelock podcast and PBS s3.

Ahhhh, Applelock -- now on iTunes.

Silvia's highlights from Applelock.  8)  Sounds like a blast!  Which includes two links at end to pics of Ben.

Life lessons I learned from 'Sherlock' season 3 at CNET.

You can watch s3 for free -- through 4-March-2014 -- at PBS online!

Correction! 9.58pm, not 10pm for PBS.

I didn't remember to update this earlier -- sorry!  I was watching PBS last week, waiting for Sherlock to air, and didn't know why it was showing... early.

PBS is showing each s3 episode at 9.58pm ET:
Sunday 19-Jan-2014
Sunday 26-Jan-2014
Sunday 2-Feb-2014

They're also playing a Twitter game during the show, from 9.58-10:30pm, so check out WGBH to find out more.  Hashtag #SherlockPBS.

So make sure if you're taping it that you tape earlier.  Please do your best to watch the show or tape it on PBS, because the more American watchers, the more PBS will know how much we adore Sherlock and do their damnedest to get s4 for us!

And maybe, just maybe, PBS can persuade the BBC to let us watch at the same time, eh?

Pssst!  PBS was impressed with how many fans turned out on 19-Jan to see The Empty Hearse.  Record high:  4 million, 25% more than for the premiere of s2.  Go fandom go!!!

Mostly s3 spoilers.

Intriguing post about PBS, its audience... and torrents.

Everything else, expect spoilers.  I've tried to mark them, but I may have failed.

A bit of s3 ep3 setlock:  major spoiler!!

Props from wearsherlock:  the mobile phones in s3.

Even though the wearsherlock giveaway in this post is now closed -- sorry! -- I'm linking it here because it's got a great note at the bottom.  However, that means:  spoilers from s3 ep2.

S3 spoilers inside!  Sherlock will continue until BC gets too famous:  Ben and Moffat.  Also Q-and-A with Moffat right before s3 came out.

Some spoilers.  Collider interview with Benedict about s3, s4, trading notes with RDJ.  Who Ben is a fan of, remember. 8)

S3 incoming, America-- and about s4.

The Beeb says you have 3 days left to watch s3 -- The Empty Hearse, The Sign of Three, and His Last Vow -- on the BBC iPlayer.

This Sunday, 19-Jan-2014, is when PBS officially airs The Empty Hearse, at 10pm EST (-5 UTC).

Please, if you're in the States or Canada, watch it on PBS!  I want them to get a better eyeball count -- or watcher count, if you prefer.

The UK has a really good idea of who watched BBC One for s3, and who livestreamed the eps.

C'mon, we want them to know how much we want to see Sherlock!  Because then Mark and Steven and SteveT can start writing s4...

London 2014: PBS Masterpiece contest.

Masterpiece sweepstakes to visit London in 2014; for American and Canadian fans.  Sorry to my fellow Sherlockians elsewhere!  8(

I heard about this via a friend's Tweet.  Do invite your friends too from the Sweepstakes website!  If you've friends in the States, do please tell them (and then make them take pics for you!).

It should tell you what kind of Anglophile I am... that I was getting excited about various parts of London and not so much about Downton Abbey.  It's a lovely place, certainly, but London is more appealing to me, sorry!

I am a Downton fan, but not a Downton fangirl.  That is the difference.

Also, there are many places in London, historically, that get me geeked.  Streets.  Buildings.  London Bridge...  Theaters, parks...  This isn't even getting into the rest of England!

PBS airdate for s3: 19-Jan-2014!!!

Many thanks to my Tweep jaggedrain who alerted me to this news today.  So I found out almost immediately: woot!!!  Let us celebrate!!

ETA:  Oh yeah, here's the link from PBS itself, which includes the EW link.  It is indeed official.  Now we just wait on the Beeb.  I predict a run at Amazon Real Soon.

"This is your living, Sherlock."

Did you want screen caps from the BBC One trailer?  How about gifs?  Because tumblr has gifs.

Here, the s3 quote is superimposed over s1 and s2 screen caps; warning, probable feels!  Order is Scandal, Study, Baskerville, Study.

I think it's really cool that Team Sherlock likes to send out Tweets, comments, pics -- you name it -- to tease fandom.  Okay, maybe it's just that I enjoy the entertainment factor.  8)  Because I'm a twisted person, eh?

Final Problem also notes that although Ben WANTS the States to get Sherlock simultaneously as the UK, it is not within his power.  See the May 2012 (!) Masterpiece video itself.  It's 47 minutes long, so settle in with a beverage and some snacks.

Thanks, WETA; please vote Anglo Fan semifinals!

May 2013, Sherlockian (Lacy) at WETA wrote Filming wraps on Episode 2, Airdate Rumors Debunked.  Do read if you want to know what BBC factors would preclude Sherlock s3 airing in September, October, or November 2013.

Remember that Sue Vertue herself said September is not happening.  And she would know!

Spoiler zone

WETA has the July 2013 vids of Ben doing Top Gear.  STID and RF in one vid.

WETA also has a great 2012 piece about Reichenbach.  (I'd put a bunch of speculation links next, but just visit the Final Problem in sidebar.  It's easier.)

Anglo Fan Favorites has 34 hours left -- but although Ben and Alan were really close at the start, things are looking bad for our Sherlock.  I haven't given up yet.

Please vote as much as you can!  Bribe your friends and family, tell your enemies a vote for Ben would make you cry -- anything possible!  Well, almost anything.

If you have tumblr, PLEASE post "vote!" links there too.  Thanks!

Sherlock for Xmas 2013???

We expect that the UK will... but the States possibly getting Sherlock s3 for Christmas too?

Wouldn't that be a fantastic gift from the BBC and PBS?  If you're in the USA, do what Ben says... write Rebecca Eaton at WGBH!

So here's three pieces of visual candy as carrots.  And I said 'dangerous' and here you are.  Sherlock before the 221B window incident in s2e1.

Your third piece?  This is my official picture for Cumberkisses.  Just in case you needed them from Ben.  (Shot is probably from rooftop filming RF s2e3, not s3.)

Per Steve Lawes, as of 16-May-13 they had five days to go for s3e2.  So now would be a good time to write Rebecca Eaton and your local PBS station!!

All Cumberbatch, nearly.

Cumberbatched moments:

Chelsea's set of photos via tumblr.  A behind-the-scenes black-and-white still shot of Benedict.  Grey-eyed Benedict, looking off camera.  Who's that arguing?  The bridge t-shirts.

Sherlock in sunglasses.

Benedict filming August: Osage County.

Sherlocked and Cumberbatched photo set.  (Note: I would LOVE to know how/when someone got the ears pinned to Sherlock in TGG pic.  Just sayin'!)  Beauty is that which is simultaneously attractive and sublime.  Also here, the sadness and yet that beauty.

Playing every part in this film:  Benedict Cumberbatch poster!  Merry Christmas to us, fandom!!  Hey girl... sweater poster.

PBS has the Benedict Cumberbatch DVD collection available now.

Projects for the Sherlock writers, and divers other things.

Audio Cumberbatch:  Benedict singing a snippet -- thanks to MK Hey (of the Sherlock candy) for letting me know about this!  Benedict also reads Silverwing; here's the first clip of that, and a YouTube search for the rest.  He does voices.

Cumberbatched moments:  Benedict on holiday.  A photoset of Benedict wearing a grey suit.  Benedict looking very Sherlock and intense.  Lovely PBS Batch.  Soulful look.  Dancing on set of Sherlock.

Arguing with the shippers 'toon:  You tell 'em, John!  Just ignore Sherlock, I always do.  ;P

Lots! Visuals, PBS, RF, noms...

PBS reminds US residents about the countdown before Sherlock stops streaming (20-June!) on their website.

Guess who's on the catwalk for GQ today? Bet you have some idea. Barefoot.

A great ego 'toon of Sherlock: oh, John, back to astronomy AGAIN?

Fabulous interview: Lara Pulver: The infamous 111-second scene with Sherlock that made my career go pop.

Sherlock has 7 nominations at the first PAAFTJ Television Awards, including Best Cast in a Miniseries! Thanks to the marvelous Sherlockology.

Fantastic essay from The Baker Street Babes: The Validation of the Internet Fandom: Bridging the Gap Between Traditional Fandom and the Age of Tumblr.

A blog post which would make a good intro for anyone who hasn't yet seen Sherlock: Oh. My. Awesome. I am Sherlocked.

And 16-June was the day that John Watson stated this, a day that was not celebrated today, but mourned greatly, as fans worldwide wept afresh over Reichenbach.

It's been a year for John since the Fall. A year of his purgatory is past. Over!

I say to all of you, O fellow Sherlockians; get thee to the picspam up there under the Sherlock candy. It will help worlds. Right now you need to be reminded of the funny and witty lines we love so much to get you past the tears. We're all in this together. Here, take Sherlock's shock blanket and get yourself a nice cuppa, eh?

DVD sweepstakes at PBS.

How many #Sherlock references can you fit on one postcard? 38 apparently.

Really the eye candy of Benedict and a moving pic of Benedict-cute and him holding a key; how can he not even be smiling and yet--! :)

Well done pic [image meld? it's clever and a bit scary] and a Sherlock/John poster, both through @K_Estep13.

Plus a Reichenbach Fall poster and a 'toon of "Of course not!", along with another 'toon of probable torment. I especially like how that's a play on several folk tales!

Irene's texts to Sherlock, onscreen at the end of Scandal. Want a breathless recap of A Scandal in Belgravia? Try the BBC America.

In fact, although I don't agree with this funny pic, if you feel differently, then hie thee hence -- to Zap2it Awards: Best couple that isn't a couple unless you ask Tumblr for shippers everywhere, asking "Are Sherlock and Watson meant to be?" You've only got until 12:01 a.m. PST on Wednesday, June 13.

Don't forget to sign the shipping application too. ;) Thanks to @CatsInLaugh for Tweeting it!

For anyone who hasn't seen Season 2 enough -- jonesing for Season 3 yet? -- you can find it at Masterpiece PBS, and also at WETA -- for one more week only.

Sherlockology noted today that the Masterpiece PBS Sherlock Sweepstakes [USA only] to win Sherlock DVDs for both seasons is open -- now through 29-June. Go enter right now.

Pssst, the DVDs are the full BBC editions, so stress not.

ETA:  Australian fans! You can win Sherlock – Complete Series 2 (Blu-Ray Giveaway) up to midday on Friday 22 June 2012.

Last is a lovely review about the Sherlock season 2 soundtrack.
