Contests: Anglo FF and RT.

Team Sherlock was sweeping the female Anglo Fan Favorites -- almost!  Una and Loo won their bouts in Round 1, but Lara didn't.

Loo is just behind in her match this time around.

Una is against Helen, so I'm afraid the uneven match will be her undoing.  8(

This round of Anglo Fan Faves ends Friday on 12-December 11am ET.  But--!
In case Anglo Fan Faves' Round 2 wasn't enough... get yourselves ready.

There's another contest.

S4, Una, a fan vid; Anglo FF.

Reasons why we love Una Stubbs -- tumblr user jennylevey would like to send Una a collection of these.  Do reblog, I pray you!

Your Love Is My Drug - Sherlock by Lemon Swordfish

One of my favorite instrumental fan vids, all s1.  It's lovely.  I could listen to it for hours (and sometimes do).

Both Ben and Martin got swept out of Anglo Fan Faves.  (So did Tom Hiddleston, which is a bit shocking.  Loki lost to the Doctor!)  I suspect the actors who were cheering their fans on got more than a little boost.  I don't recall that happening before.

So if you're still voting, Thorin's against the Tenth Doctor, while the Outlander is crushing Merlin.  I feel this is fitting, since Smaug should've won, clearly.  ;b

Snapshot of Anglo Fan Faves, Women 2014, which starts 1-Dec-14.  Note that Lara, Loo, and Una are all in again this time around!  But... Amanda isn't.

If you haven't seen all of s3 yet, avoid this.  Possible s4 spoilers -- and just as likely, Mark just messing with us.  Like he and Steven tend to do.  :D

Bits of Sign that I loved: spoilers!

These are all s3 spoilers.  Really not kidding.

And because these can't ALL be Tweets, Radio Times summed up the stag do for us.  8D  Cheers!

Anglo Fan Favorites: Women!

Oh no!!!  Anglo Fan Favorites has put Team Sherlock against two Doctor Who companions and the Dowager Countess!

Loo (Louise Brealey)... Molly is almost 20 percent behind her opponent.

Lara Pulver, who will be in The Man Who Would Be Bond next... Irene Adler is almost 50 percent behind her opponent.

And Mrs. Hudson has just over 14 percent now, putting her 71 percent behind Dame Maggie Smith.  Who I do love, mind you; but she doesn't need me like Una does in this race.  :/

Voting ends 5-Sept-13 at 11am Eastern.  You can vote hourly; please do!

Eye candy, Jerusalem, and Hawking.

First, Stephen Hawking and Benedict Cumberbatch in very brief video about Hawking.

Cheekbones alert!  Because you know and I know what a great sign that is!  Thanks to virtualloki's tumblr for the pic; Tweeted here.
Alas, we didn't push Alan out of Anglo 2013 Semifinals... but we sure pushed hard.  Whoo-hoo, Cumbercollective!  8)  Ben's score kept going up (reaching 42.55%) although Alan retained his 15% lead.

So that means that Loki =cough= Hiddles will go against Snape.  Make sure to vote in the Anglo 2013 Finals if you want to aid them in their quest.

Everything after the break is some level of spoiler, mostly for s2, maybe s4:

Sponsored by tumblr: Sherlockian moments.

WARNING!  Any links after the s1 eps could possess feels and/or Reichenbach.

Yay for tumblr, particularly the Final Problem's #EverySherlockianFamilyIsSherlockianInItsOwnWay tag!

Do you want to watch SH?  After three episodes.  Not.  Watching Sherlock.  I don't know why I'm doing this to myself.

-- I tried to resist doing any Cumberbatched ones, but I failed; I also missed the guys' versions, sorry!  I aimed for funnies, mostly.

Fan art underscoring the funny moments.

My, oh my, lots of s2 here.  Funny about that.  I've noticed that bloggers and reviewers have an awful time separating out 2010 and 2012 Sherlock; of course they're not alone.  =grin=  We tend to mix 'em and mash 'em in fan art too for some odd reason!

Entering the season 2 zone of probable spoilers!

Fan art gleaned from 20 Reasons Why The Cult Of (Benedict) Cumberbatch Is The Internet’s Strongest:

Gun safety from Sherlock Holmes, the longer version.  :D

In the Palace:  "Sibling rivalry, now we're getting somewhere."

"I've missed something, haven't I?"

Perhaps THIS funny scene did really happen during Reichenbach, eh?

Sherlock season 3 in production!

Sherlock season 3 will be filming soon!!  On 18-March-13, in fact.  Martin and Sue Vertue and others have been delighting our ears with these happy tidings.

Benedict and Martin did the first read-through as well.

Alas, Paul McGuigan is not directing season 3.  Two other directors have been confirmed thus far.

Thanks to Sherlockology and Radio Times for many details of this post!

As you can see, fans have been visiting London lately, including some of my dear Tweeps.  :D

Sherlockology has a great FAQ -- with season 3 right at the top! -- so if you want to know how to contact the cast, go read it.

Sherlock SEASON 4 is confirmed!!!!!!!

Today is brought to you by the letter M.

Another pic of Una, Benedict, and Lara from Specsavers, but with Benedict smiling.

Fan art:  Grammar pedant, Sherlock Holmes.  Sad Sherlock from Blind Banker.

Calculations:  How old are Sherlock and John? (For all your fan fic and fangirling needs).

A study of fan fic, i.e., statistics.

Because I have missed Mycroftian considerations -- confess, you have also! -- here's some of them from the Mycroftian part of our fandom:

The Mystery of Sherlock's Mummy.

Danger nights.

Crime Daggers!

Cumberbatched:  Smiling, very slightly disheveled.  Looking very very James Bond.  He is just O.o.  The lip bite.  Smooch from PBS Batch.  Nearly solemn -- what are you thinking, Benedict?

Sherlocked:  You are a genius poster.  Sherlock in museum in Blind Banker.

Benedict holding the Crime Daggers -- for Sherlock as Best Show, himself as Best Actor/Sherlock, and Martin as Best Supporting Actor/John Watson.  Well done, Team Sherlock!  Benedict making faces behind a dagger.

The highlights of the Crime Thriller Awards vid.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy also got the Film Dagger.  :)

Una, Benedict, and Lara at the Specsavers Crime Thriller Awards!  :D  Here's Benedict, Lara, Martin, and Una.

In case you're longing for series 3 even more, have a nice little discussion from the Sherlock candy blog by mkhey -- about burgling.

Baskerville rewatch; Scandal next & Emmys today!

Did Baskerville rewatch until quite late -- joined by SherlockCares.  :D  I had a few breaks in there.  Twitter decided after I came back from supper that hey, no more Tweets for me!  Argh!

Then a half hour later, since I hadn't given up, Twitter surrendered.  HootSuite might even post the scheduled Tweets I tried to post around 10.40pm, who knows.  Maybe it's gone mad also.  o.O

Many more fan vids.

Cumberbatched moments: Adorable Benedict.  Young Ben.  Benedict lounging on the couch (mmm!).

Dear Sherlock fandom:  Things could be worse; we could have this problem.

Alone on the Water → Sherlock + John - ♪ 'Sorrow' uploaded by beadedstar.

If you haven't read Alone, the most famous of recent Sherlock fan fic, you'll want to read it first. Statistically probable result: You will cry.  Possibly as much or more than from seeing Reichenbach.

Sweet Dreams - Sherlock by MsSusanPevensie.  Heh!  All season 1; note that this links to the others for season 2, using same song.

Fan vid recs, some Reichenbach Support Group, and BC pics.

Miscellaneous Benedict pics -- Benedict in uniform in Parade's EndHawking screen shots

Cumberbatch moment:  Goodnight, all.  Plus:  My Sherlock sticker display.  :D

All my recs for fan vids are in the spoiler zone...

Except this one:  BBC's Sherlock - "Hot and Cold" by chavivi86.  Definitely a vid my shipper friends will really like.  (I did.)  Alert:  Some swearing, and either it's Johnlock or Sherolly, could go either way.

The Smithsonian blog, a letter, and sundry.

Knowing Benedict Cumberbatch... Rachel at RedandKitty wondering about the book Everything You Ever Needed to Know About Benedict Cumberbatch.

When it comes to swag, I would like a book bag featuring Sherlock quotes.  And I could make one of my very own, over at ArtsCow.  I think I shall.  :)

If you're looking for a Sherlock messenger bag, there's one at Etsy.

Pics: Benedict with Jessica EnnisBenedict looking almost like a grown man instead of a kid (this is an observation, not a complaint, mind).

Sherlock wins hottest show in @Totalfilm hotlist.  The Smithsonian blogs about Sherlock and the Technology of Deduction!  (This is the fourth in a series, BTW.)

After this point: Spoilers for season/series 2.

Two pics off Twitter:  Benedict as Sherlock, taking a smoke breakSherlock receiving a text in Reichenbach. [Links broken as of 2013]

Dear Mr. Martin Freeman, an open letter from a bereaved fan.

Hiatus through 30-July: radio silence.

Okay, I have to go on hiatus for the next fortnight, which means this blog will go (ETA to correct: MOSTLY) silent.

I will miss doing this terribly.  I enjoy storing Sherlock links.  But I can restart my fan-blogging when my work's been delivered.

Anyone who wants to send me Sherlock links on Twitter is welcome, or you can leave them here in comments if you like.  I can't promise anything will be posted sooner than 31-July, however.  Sorry!

I'm also blocking my access to Twitter (and tumblr and LJ) for all but 30 minutes a day, starting today.

There's a few reasons for both the Tweet diet and the dormant blog:

1]  I have a freelance project due in two weeks.  I need to get it done.  Absolutely must.

2]  It's not just Twitter (and the ever-lovely Sherlock fandom) that's been distracting me.  :)

I've also got a work-related trip coming up -- a working vacation, if you like -- the end of August.  So I've been doing things like luggage shopping and other travel plans.

3]  I tend to work nights and sleep days.  This is not what most people do.  Since our neighbor is building a house next door, you can imagine how poorly I've been sleeping.  Plus, I have insomnia on/off.

I happen to get more work done at night, and I prefer night anyway, but this doesn't change the way the world works.

Anyone who's been reading, please do keep doing thingsVote for Lara at Anglo; that ends on Benedict's birthday -- this Thursday in fact, 19-July.

We wanted to get #WeLoveBenedictCumberbatch trending on Twitter for Thursday.  Go for it!

The cancer charity project for Benedict's birthday is 428% past its target goal...  And you have until 31-July to join the Martin Freeman project.

Plus, if you hadn't voted for Sherlock and Mal Reynolds as TV's Best Bad Boy, hurry.  You can only vote once (yes, I've tried more, sue me).

Catch... you... later!

Film and TV news, TWO polls, plus RP.

You need a funny after watching Great Game, didn't you?  Here's backstage scenes from the Pool.  Thanks to the darling Gita!

Benedict Cumberbatch’s dual ‘Simpsons’ role revealed.

Sherlock poster.  This pic could make an interesting poster... maybe Uh, hello, Sherlock (on expressions to avoid)!  Some other RedBubble shirts you might like, ordered by another fine Twitter user.

SDCC 2012: Jonny Lee Miller on talking to Benedict Cumberbatch about Sherlock Holmes. Star Trek news from Comic-Con.  From Cumberbatchweb:  Benedict's father Timothy has a part in Parade's End, and speaking briefly to Benedict's mother.

Cumberbatched moments:  Perfection in a beige jumperVenive Blond Batch.  Same suit, different poseDistracted by Benedict yet?

Our lovely Lara Pulver.  :)

Almost ALL swag, spoilers, Lara up for Anglo.

I want a Sherlock shirt.  So, although I'll probably use the fantastic HF Fangirl image, since its creator gave me permission... I was looking at RedBubble.

RedBubble... oodles of swag!  Starting with someone else's Reichenbach Support Group!  :)

Cumberbatched set:
Get Cumberbatched -- OCD -- Addiction -- HF Fangirl (variation) -- (descriptive Batch shirt) -- Eggs... sort of -- Batch variations -- Cumberhugs! -- Cumberbatched -- Benedict drawing -- Peter Guillam.

Sherlock's message plan -- Sherlock texting John and GL in Study -- the (in)famous psychopath line.

Keep Calm... -- Series 3 -- Sherlock quotes -- Moriarty's threat.

Sherlock Society quiz -- joke between Martin and Benedict -- Bandersnatch Cummerbund.

More swag after the break!

Finals time! Plus BC audio dynamite.

Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch to perform one-off reading of Look Back in Anger -- I wish I could be there. I hope someone puts this on YouTube!!

Cumberbatch moments: Time Traveller Problems; Casual (Blue Jean) Batch and another Casual Batch; Anything will be held against you poster; ibelieveinmycroft offers Blond Batch when he's Peter Guillam from Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy... and Benedict smoking (obviously in smokers' jail, hmmm; maybe while filming Sherlock).

If audio Benedict is more your cuppa, there WAS a tumblr for that [link broken as of October 2013].  From that lovely source, I found that Benedict has read a Ngaio Marsh novel, Death in a White Tie; you can find that and other audio books via LiveJournal now. First, I highly recommend Dame Ngaio Marsh's mysteries, and second: WOW. You can also Google to get various YouTube readings, such as Jabberwocky and Kubla Khan, for starters.

Review of the unaired pilot for Sherlock; and another longer review of it over here

After this point: Spoilers for season/series 2 until the final paragraph!

Our lovely ladies of BBC Sherlock pic!  Martin having a John moment with The Hat.

You knew it was coming, that Benedict would be pitted against Tom Hiddleston... and that Martin would be up for the Bronze! Finals voting ends Wednesday, July 11 at 11 am ET.

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Goodly fistful of links. :)

Mycroft doesn't... and Lestrade advising Mycroft.

Fashion Review: Podcast interview of Sherlockology.  Tonight the latter kindly provided me with Wiki link for Parade's End, upcoming WWI drama by the BBC and HBO, starring Benedict and written by Tom Stoppard -- who wrote Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and co-wrote Shakespeare in Love, if you want references.

Yesterday's Coldplay was inspired by a shorter Sherlock fan vid, this one, with a bit of Moriarty and being closer to Johnlock. Just season 1.

Spoilers for season/series 2 until the final paragraph!

Another Youtube tearjerker called the scientist | sherlock and john; song by Coldplay. Contains Reichenbach.

Lara talks about Scandal; includes internal link to RadioTimes interview with Lara Pulver and Andrew Scott.

Don't forget to vote over at Anglo Fan Favorites for Martin or Benedict -- or both!  We have a plan; if they tie, then Anglo FF may learn not to upset the Sherlock fandom.  Think we can do it?
