Filming began TODAY.

It's 18-March-2013!!!!  Happy first day of filming Sherlock season 3!

About spoilers for series 3, the Baker Street Babes remind us that not everyone wants to be spoiled.  Honor that as best you can; if you are a spoilery sort, do put it up on top of your tumblr, blog, etc.  Use tags!

There's a blocking app for tumblr too, if you happen to want some help in blocking posts there.

Into the Hive Mind -- a lovely in-depth article about the fandom that waited, full of great links and well worth your time to read.  You might need to take breaks; it's 5k words and very detailed.

The spoiler zone for season 3 starts here:

Projects for the Sherlock writers, and divers other things.

Audio Cumberbatch:  Benedict singing a snippet -- thanks to MK Hey (of the Sherlock candy) for letting me know about this!  Benedict also reads Silverwing; here's the first clip of that, and a YouTube search for the rest.  He does voices.

Cumberbatched moments:  Benedict on holiday.  A photoset of Benedict wearing a grey suit.  Benedict looking very Sherlock and intense.  Lovely PBS BatchSoulful lookDancing on set of Sherlock.

Arguing with the shippers 'toon:  You tell 'em, John!  Just ignore Sherlock, I always do.  ;P

An intro, pics, and meetup.

Benedict's introduction to Sherlock Holmes' The Hound of the Baskervilles. Note that if you ever thought if he was adorable before, reading that intro will, mmm, improve upon your belief.

Lots of Cumberbatched moments!  You mean him??   In another scarf... a thing for scarves.  Benedict in a cab here, and also there, looking very like a vulnerable Sherlock.

Dialog between Sherlock fandom and Mofftiss.  :D

Put some extra links in this post, back when I was trying to not blog here this past fortnight [and failing utterly, I might add].

SPOILERS here only: Reichenbach flashback -- because of the London Games -- and this shirt

If you're in Washington State, don't forget the Sherlock event/meetup there on Wednesday, 1-August-2012!

Semifinals ends today; heaps of links!

Four faces of Benedict poster.  Benedict's mug shot.  A pair of Benedict pics from a May 2012 photocall.

A BBC spoof of Sherlock.

The Great Game moment when Sherlock gives Mycroft this Look.  A Baskerville pose sans spoilers.

Benedict has suggested using Cumberbabes instead of t'other word.  :)  And so the legions say...

This is the really Cumberbatched portion of our program here:  Not a spoilery Sherlock poster (probably from Baskerville) -- but, uh, provocative a la Cumberbatched.  Why Watch BBC poster.  Slices of (9) Benedict picsMaking up Benedict.

Brilliant Sherlock meets the Simpsons poster!  News on Benedict's cameo on the show is here.

Our Mrs. Hudson, Una Stubbs: 'I just think, Oh, I hope I can be good enough'.

Under film spoilers... a trio of The Hobbit images of Martin.

An alternate ending for the pool scene which ends Great Game, the fanfic Sink like a Stone.  Warning:  Much angst!  More (and yet also less) Johnlock than I'd expected.

After this point: Spoilers for season/series 2 until the final paragraph!

A medieval rendering of Reichenbach.  A cut scene [from PBS] after RF:  poor our JohnPoster for the "Believe in Sherlock" movement.

Benedict and Steven Moffat commenting on Irene Adler with Sherlock... or, Mercy poster.

A nice Redbubble poster to cheer you up, mixing quotes from both seasons.

If you're still awake, wherever you are, this is the last effort for the Anglo FF Semifinals.  Benedict is about 13% ahead of Martin as of this writing. Less than 8 hours left of the poll to go!

Fanfic, birthdays, and getting eps.

I found out Saturday, but Sherlockology wished Rupert Graves happy birthday on Friday. (Doesn't Rupert look sharp in that picture?)

First look at ‘Sherlock’s’ Andrew Scott in new drama ‘Blackout’.

The famous Alone on the Water fanfic (includes a bit of Johnlock).  I was persuaded to read it.  This'll make you cry... unless you really don't care about our lads.  Certainly I did cry.

Spoilers for season/series 3 [and confirms villain too!]: ‘Sherlock’ spoilers: Mark Gatiss confirms story of series 3 opener

Missed any eps?  SherlockCares has BBC news -- and this link for European fans -- also fanfic.

After this point: Spoilers for season/series 2 until the final paragraph!

Big spoiler for Reichenbach. Leave it here if you've not seen yet!  Another Believe in Sherlock viral moment.

The Will of Sherlock Holmes.  Note that the text's typed up underneath, so don't strain your eyes trying to read the scanned pic.

End of Reichenbach poster.  [Link broken as of October 2013.] Swag for The Final Problem Scene and JM.

‘Sherlock’ quotes: Our top 10 favorite -- note that page 1 is season 1 only, but alludes to both seasons, so it's very spoilery.

After so much Reichenbach, you need some fun.  Try the Masterpiece PBS Sherlock game out.  :)  And remember, Benedict's birthday is next month if you're involved in any of the BC birthday projects! Vote in the Semifinals too, whether you're going for the Benedict/Martin tie or just one, do vote.

Sherlock trending!

Sherlock is trending... worldwide! Benedict thumbs-up pic attached and Sherlock's cute smile, along with Mycroft's reaction; all thanks to . :)

's take on their trending

-- And I haven't heard this yet, so I'm putting it under the SPOILER tag, just in case.  Sherlock audio.

Semifinals, visuals, and of course, sex.

Benedict talks about music, through tumblr, which was referenced on his lovely TV Tropes page from the Description Porn category. Note the other plays on his name if you would. :)

Remember when we played the Pancake game on Twitter? No? Here's a little sample.

A 'toon synopsis of Life as lived by Sherlock and John; another incident.  And as for John's dubious auditory delight... :D

Sassy pic of Benedict, looking adorable and all ginger.

Spoilers for season/series 2 until the final paragraph!

Sherlockology's in the news!  :)  How's that for awesome?  And they talk a teensy bit about Reichenbach [and how something's already been filmed, shhh!].

And for our John, and us too, another 'toon:  I miss him.  Against that, you need a laugh:  Before Sherlock got on the Tube in Baskerville.

Swag!  Redbubble is the place.  Have fun switching the key words around; here's my favorite thus far.  :)  Reichenbach Survivor "Take My Hand" shirt.

Would You Rather Bang Sherlock or Moriarty?

Anglo Fan Favorites did it! They put Benedict and Martin head to head.
So after Martin slew Colin Firth and Benedict narrowly won over David Tennant, they decided to make the Sherlock fandom cry.  So who will YOU vote for?

More Sherlockcandy... and a contest.

You see, but do you observe? Sherlockology's got a little competition going. Do go try it out. :)

Last night I found My Love Affair with Sherlock. (Link broken as of August 2013.)  It is SO COOL. Funny, clever, and full of interesting bits with the Sherlock cast and crew. Definitely Sherlock candy.

Cosplay for houses: 221B
.

Rex Stout's detective Nero Wolfe is another possible distraction for Sherlock fans. A&E did a brilliant short series if you haven't seen it.

The picspam is hilarious, in case you haven't read it; see blog's top corner for links. In Baskerville: "Oh come on, Sherlock, own up and take your thumping like a gentleman."

Note from @The_Whip_Hand, including picture of Lara Pulver.

Last, the Sherlock drinking game. Take sips! You must survive to 2013 for season 3, remember.

Visuals, Anglo contests, and SH comic.

Hurting for John? My friend Kelsey pointed me to this Sherlock comic, BUT THEN. I really think this page captures it, but you may want to read them all. It's tumblr, so if you're unfamiliar with tumblr, first slide down the page and then back up.

Over at Anglo Fan Faves, Benedict is handily defeating his opponent, but Martin needs more support!!

Note that you can only vote once per day! it looks at your IP. :) [Yes, I did try, that's how I know.] However, I also voted for Colin Firth and Neil Gaiman, so I spread the goodness around. Besides, I like Neil a lot, he really is one of the nicest people on Planet Earth. Here's his tumblr post.

If Sherlock was anime.

Two through the BBC: Some 2010 thoughts by Mark Gatiss on Sherlock -- just two days before the show first aired -- and Sherlock: A Perspective on Technology and Story Telling.

A poster of the Greek zodiac of Sherlock characters and another poster pulled from the unaired pilot.

Several pics of Benedict looking suave with Dan Stevens (Matthew Crowley); and all casual while displaying his great smile; then dressed up for GQ and still smiling; and being made up. :)

And someday, although today too does not appear to be that day, I will get Youtube to play the entirety of Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch present Steven Moffat's Special BAFTA Award - BBC One for me. But... alas, not today. =mutters darkly=

I have to say, from what I did hear of their speech, they must have practiced quite a lot to be so smooth. :D Very classy.

Magic vid, visuals, and interviews.

From the marvelous SherlockCares.com, fan vid We All Know Sherlock Is Magic. WARNING: if you have NOT seen Reichenbach, do not watch that vid. Yet.

Of 5 Brits, there's a couple here I think we know pretty well. :)

From TV Line: Benedict Cumberbatch on Playing Sherlock at 50.

Highlights from the previous interview, at DigitalSpy: Benedict Cumberbatch: 'Sherlock can continue past series three'; also 'Sherlock' star Andrew Scott: 'It's very hard for Moriarty to return'.

Another pic of Benedict with ginger curls, playing a part.

More of Andrew, with a fun Moriarty poster.

If you happened to be looking for cut scenes, this isn't one of them, but it makes for a great version of The Coffee moment between Sherlock and John.

A few other funnies from one tumblr: Moriarty and Moffat and Sherlock and Benedict.

Printed fanfic & other candy.

Some folks on Twitter have been requesting more/other fanfics to read. Well, strangely enough, first-generation fans were just as fascinated by Sherlock Holmes and they wrote fanfic too. Including authors of mystery and other genres. Some you might know, such as Mark Twain and Agatha Christie and August Derleth... :)

It is one of the oldest groups of fanfic around, if not the oldest.

I highly recommend The Misadventures of Sherlock Holmes. I love that book. Someone should get on to the heirs of Ellery Queen [and all the others, Agatha Christie and August Derleth included] and see about reissuing it.

My very favorite is Richard Mallett's story about The Great Detective. Unforgettable! <3 And another Twitter user kindly recommended The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes to me. Its introduction is of great interest to Sherlockians. Particularly if you haven't delved elsewhere into the Golden Age of Detection.

If you haven't read Ellery Queen's Challenge to the Reader, you ought to. It's fun. :)

I found the book about Highly Sensitive People through the lovely MoniqueJ, who feels Sherlock is an HSP. I am becoming persuaded, since I've got farther into Chapter One. (Of course this means Moriarty probably is too -- that's a frightening thought!) I don't think Sherlock's really got Asperger's [despite John's half-joke to Lestrade; John was trying to make Greg feel better].

The Modern Misadventures of Sherlock Holmes and the Limits of Rationality. Nice take on his limits.

I'm really certain I have forgo neglected to bring up the fabulous Ariane DeVere, whose LJ transcripts of the Sherlock DVDS have given me many delighted moments.

More pics coming, some of which is frankly "just looking at Benedict" [natch], like this pic; although this one's got both Benedict and Martin smiling!

Benedict teases people about Sherlock, as does Mark Gatiss via a Q&A. (Don't worry, they're filming Sherlock come 2013, the boys are just messing with you!)

For fans of Andrew Scott, Radio Times just interviewed him. :)

P.S. For more GAD detective recs, see my work blog, AZ Shea, where I do bring up favorite mysteries. :)
