Tribute to Cabin Pressure.

On Monday, 3-Nov-2014, I found out about this.  Alas, much too late to tell you before the project was done, but now you can enjoy what was done.

A year ago, the fans running the Cabin Pressure fan site decided to do a Thank You for Cabin Pressure project on tumblr.  The updates are here.

So I thought this would be a good thing for Thanksgiving.  Because we're thankful for CP, and knowing that other fans expressed how we all feel... is something to be thankful for.  Along with the cast of CP.

It is amazing, and may make you cry too.  (I'm all sniffly now!)

James Rhodes and mental health charity.

Pianist James Rhodes is a friend of Benedict's.  Today James got married.

Ben was part of his wedding party [an usher, it sounds like, despite penguins] while Stephen Fry wed the happy couple.

That auction got thousands!

Charity auction: Ben and many more!

Remember that Annos Africa auction?  That was announced back in July.  It's all for charity, and Ben's got a lovely suit up there.

His suit has gone to £2650 thus far.  In about 48 hours.

Benedict wins the IB Challenge!

I take it back, I should have known that Ben would have a load of fun taking on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from Tom.  The chance to ham it up on screen for us all and tease fandom like crazy?  Perfect opportunity!



He made his video (above) into the best little movie with as much fun as possible.  If he wasn't the director as well as the plotter-in-chief, I'd be terribly shocked.

The Daily Mail has screen shots and his dialog there, in case you couldn't hear Ben speak very well (certainly I couldn't).  I love the final lonely ice cube sliding down his car!

2014 master post: Ben's birthday charities.

When I began this post, I knew of seven fundraisers at present to honor Ben and the charities he supports.  There are more.  Naturally.

I've been blogging about the fundraisers, with more details if I had them.

I don't think I'll be able to update this list any more due to July work... but I will re-post this master post link (via Twitter) during July so they all get a chance to be seen.  If you reply to my Tweets, I'll RT or MT yours too.

Charities: lottery, and an giveaway!

I'm not sure I can keep all the charities in order.  But I'll try.

I'm including my previous blog post, where I thought only three charities existed.  (Except I was sure it was four, and I had forgotten one; and that was true.)  Specifically, the main ALS/MND fund, the Prince's Trust -- these are both active right now -- and the upcoming Annos Africa charity auction.

We love to support Benedict in his charities.  We do.

I know of three currently active for summer 2014:  ALS/MND and Prince's Trust, and soon the Annos Africa auction.

Last year Final Problem started the Cakebook of Sherlock Holmes.  In case you needed ideas to celebrate any birthday, Ben's, your own, fellow fans -- go and check these cakes out!

If you were at Cheltenham Lit Festival 2012, you saw the cake delivered to Ben already.  Then pictures of the cake hit Twitter and tumblr.  I love that Ben's friends Tweet to us such things.
